AC Milan clinched a nail-biting victory against Genoa on Saturday evening, with Olivier Giroud stepping in as an emergency goalkeeper after Mike Maignan’s red card. Giroud’s impressive performance included a crucial save in the final moments, securing the win for the Rossoneri. Christian Pulisic’s late goal had initially given Milan the lead. The drama continued as Maignan received a red card for a reckless foul. Despite already surpassing the allotted added time, Giroud took up the goalkeeper role. Genoa nearly equalized with a deflected free-kick hitting the crossbar. Then, in a surprising twist, Genoa’s goalkeeper, Josep Martinez, was also sent off. In the 104th minute, Giroud made a heroic intervention, thwarting a near-goal attempt by Genoa and preserving Milan’s 1-0 lead.
