West Ham manager David Moyes has a big decision to make on defender Nayef Aguerd. The centre back seems to be making a mistake in most games and on this occasion it swung the momentum of the game. Moyes was ready to replace Aguerd with Harry Maguire during the previous transfer window and now Konstantinos Mavropanos will be pressing hard for inclusion in the Hammers first team.

Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez netted a brilliant goal as his side romped to a 3-1 Premier League win over a dogged West Ham United side at Anfield on Sunday, deftly steering home a volley on the hour mark.

The visitors were left to rue some early misses when Mohamed Salah was felled by Nayef Aguerd in the 15th minute for a stonewall penalty, and the Egyptian attacker stepped up to smash home the resulting spot kick to give Liverpool the lead.

  1. There has been progress at WHUFC, but they still lack a striker. No Divin again – Moyesaurus beds attacking players in too slowly, & plan b coaching is now the issue from team Moyesaurus.

  2. Gonzo, I just can't OVERSTAND it when Gio says, "I expected nothing from this game because of Moyes". So we spend 100's of millions on so called good players, yet still Gio expects NOTHING. What does this say!

  3. Too many players had off days today. Liverpool would have probably won regardless, but we almost saw the worst of Moyes in terms of game management. It's hard enough as it is.

  4. Unfortunately Aguerd has a mistake in him in every game he plays and it dosent help him by playing the way we do with this fuckin crap deep block soak it up style

  5. Sheffield next week after their pasting today will be very physical next week and an ideal opportunity to play mavrapanos instead of Aguerd as will be right up his street………Antonio been found out by big 6 and know how to play him

  6. Why change? Just because we have a striker that can’t strike, a midfielder who can’t pass to save his life, a cb who can’t seem to play an entire game without making a glaring error. What’s the problem?

  7. I'm pissed off 😤. I'm tired tired tired of this clueless manager . He doesn't know anything but defending. Useless we have the best players, with Moyes losing is guaranteed. Look at Liverpool apart Salah ..the rest of the team is formed of normal players and still winning because they have a good manager not shit . Every time we play a "big" team I won't even watch the game…I'm completely pissed off I swear I'm tired of him OUT OUT OUT OUT AND FUCK OUT

  8. Not many very good performances today but Paqueta is just a joy to watch. What a player! His control and link up play with Emerson is fantastic. I´m getting worried that the 85m buyout clause is going to look a real bargain by next year.

  9. I couldn't believe how fit and strong Liverpool players were – even players who aren't physically big, like Jones. They really took a stranglehold of the game and I disagree we were in it until their third goal. I think it was all over after Nunez scored.

  10. I was feeling very uncomfortable at 2-1. Not once did I think that West Ham weren't dangerous! Their attack is so direct and precise at times they really can cut you open. I relaxed after the third goal as we really were on top of the game at that point. I think West Ham were sick of chasing air. We are looking more and more dangerous every game. This new rebuild is working out better than anybody thought it would, except maybe Klopp and the coaching team. YNWA

  11. Moyes ball will work against any team that doesn’t have a fast defence.
Man City and Liverpool only hold a high line because they know their defenders can get back.
Villa have quite a rapid defence.
West Ham will catch out quite a few teams though.

  12. A good right wing back would be great for January / next summer transfer windows and one that is great crosser of the ball. Coufal has been a great find and that's thanks to Soucek for getting him here when we needed him. Having good wing backs that can deliver a ball into the box is worth their weight in gold especially one that can cross without taking that extra touch first like Creswell does too often. That gives the opposition a few extra seconds which can be all the difference!!

  13. Thought we played well, just wonder if we had played Benny or Kudus instead of Soucek then we would have given them more to worry about and woud have limited the amount of opportunities they had.

  14. As a Liverpool fan, I can tell you every team we play throws everything they've got at us first 15-25 minutes. I get it theyve almost all gotten a goal. So far 6-6 first half but 12-0 in the second half. So what happens is two fold, your team tires and klopp and management readjust and he's been nailing his subs week in and week out. At some point fans will realize these are all pros so while u may have your good spell in the first part of matches it matters little once you're tired and we bring on more legs and attackers. Not many will hang with that. Honestly for us to feel out of any match you've gotta hit all your chances, one will never do and two is still probably a draw. Ya need 3.

  15. Im sorry but Antonio is not an out and out striker. Its himself who said that . Now days when he gets a one on one withe keep im almost 99%sure he will feck it up .
Put bowen uo front , and make Antonio a winger .
As gor soucek it just shows how much having rice creep forward it snuffled out souceks game .
Soucek seems to be improving now

  16. I couldn't watch the game here in Thailand, but, having seen the highlights this morning, I would suggest Aguerd was culpable for all their goals. He gave the pen away cheaply, was in a poor position for their second where Nunez was able to get a run on him, not to take anything away from the pass (and that's two in a row a 'scooped-ball' over the top has beaten us), and lost out to VVD from the corner.

I'd bench him for a couple of games to see how Mavrapanos does, even if he has to play on the left of the two centre-halves, he looks to have the pace to recover, unlike Zouma and Ogbonna.

  17. Despite the fact Sheffield united losing 8-0 yesterday, they will target two of our players,Coufal down the Right and Aguerd left side of defence. That game won’t be easy and they’ll want to provide a reaction.Must not lose game against them next weekend in Moyes mind, rather than Howes view we must win the game and they did 8-0.

  18. With the squad we have now, it's looking increasingly untenable and negative in starting Soucek. There's only so long the likes of Kudus is going to stomach sitting on the bench.

  19. Pep and Klopp have sussed us. They know how to prevent us playing up to Antonio or, if we do, how to get the ball back off him.
Once that's stopped we're going to struggle in attack

  20. i was in the Liverpool stand behind Klopp , he was proactive , we were reactive , very flat last 20 , never looked like scoring , i feared they were going to get 4 or 5 , need something else as an attacking alternative .

  21. got to say Paqueta , wow , what a player , worth the entrance money on his own , even the Liverpool fans around me were purring at some of the stuff he did
