      "coaches make difficult decisions all the time…" The most difficult decision in Berhalter's mind is which shoes he's going to wear to the Netherlands game. Yes, this team has had success but I think that has been more in spite of the coach than because of him.

      He wasn't ready to start…..he's also an offensive sub when all situations have called for defensive subs. I'd prefer to see him play but I'm not sure why "the experts" don't get the reasoning.

      I know how Berhalter thinks. I know Berhalter's peeves. And when he put Reyna on the field versus England, and the first thing the kid do was throw his fists in the air, scream in the air, and stare at the ball while he was finishing his temper tantrum while his teammates were scrambling, I knew he'd get benched.

      I would I think start Reyna against Holland, sitting Musah because his legs are shot. But if Reyna can't act like a grown up, expect LDT to start and Reyna to stay on the pine.

      USA is clearly lacking finishers and creators. Berhalter has clearly shown that he’s an idiot. Gio should be getting way more play, either at the 9 or on the wing.

      Unreal – Greg HAD to bring on MLS players, that's the only valid reason to bring in those two defenders and start playing passively and keep Gio on the bench when Musah was real tired. Acosta was a pretty good substitution

      What more does Berhalter have to do to get people to stop begging for Reyna. Get over it the coach doesn't believe in him. He likes to play Musah, Mckennie, and Adams and all 3 of them deserve to start. He also likes to play Pulisic and Weah on the wings and they also both deserve to start. And he likes to bring Aaronson off the bench. It really is that simple, England have Phil Foden on the bench and even they don't whine about him not starting as much as the US has whined about Reyna.

      I remember a day not that long ago when we didn't even have players of Gio's potential. So the idea that we would have a healthy player of his level play only 7 minutes and still move on from the group stage is pretty amazing.

      Gio probably complained after the first game about not playing and GGG is flexing by keeping him benched. Frankly, we're lucky GGG's massive ego didn't prevent us from getting out of the group.

      WHY he even Brought GIO REYNA to the World Cup,

      if he didn't think GIO REYNA, is (FIT) enough to play ???

      He's either not fit or Berhalter has concluded he's not going to score or create enough to compensate for the drop in work rate/energy vs those starting ahead of him. Pretty simple really

      Ok.Lets say Gio is not fit. Or let's say he is, but his touch is still missing. Make any excuse you want for Gio not playing any significant time, and fill in the blank here (________). But that still does not take away from how much of an idiot and stupid Gregg "the f**king gym coach" Berhalter is. He is the biggest single reason why this young talented team is not playing to its fullest potential. Idiot GGG is not the future of this team, and he must go immediately after this WC. Even if in a What-if world the US (with only 10 players) were to beat Brazil 7-0 in the finals. Throw Berhalter the f**k out – asap.

      Gregg was lucky today. The team has been struggling score goals. Gregg did not put Gio on the turf again. Gio is someone who is playing high level, good at assist goals and would bring more creativity in the offense final third. Gregg is very much selfish and big ego man won't tolerate anyone say any negative about him, he was putting his selfish over national interests and even though millions US fans are watching him and he does not care. He is turning the US team into his personal toy. Not Gio but he brought in Acosta someone whom did not get a chance to touch a ball once in 30 minutes.

      IMHo… as a pro armchair analyst… I just think Berhalter doesn't trust him. It's not even totally about his ability. I don't think he trusts that he's close enough to 100% that he's willing to risk or rely on him. A part of that could be how the big injury happened with the US. So it's a matter of time… he rolled the dice to bring him but there must be something he doesn't see with Reyna. I really don't think it's that he dislikes the player. But he won't risk his career.

      Not that this is a big deal but FYI… Claudio Reyna and Berhalter go back to BEFORE the national team and were teammates in High School. When Reyna was in Europe so was Berhalter. In fact maybe both were in England at the same time (with Kirovski too). So I don't think it was like Wynalda said (totally).
