  1. Messi definitely realized by 2017/18 that he wasn’t gonna be running all the time, and definitely didn’t want to stay extremely physically fit like Ronaldo or other players who could run most of the game in their mid-to-late 30’s. And I mean it’s works because he still has the acceleration to dribble past players, and the shooting and passing ability. —the only ability Messi had stagnate or decrease was his sprint speed and some may say stamina, but I really think Messi does not go all out. I mean he was able to play every single minute of the World Cup. He has stamina, he just doesn’t use it. I think people think he doesn’t h e stamina because of the leaking around but he may simply not care about games to run enough, besides of course he World Cup. So imo the only thing that Messi has lost was his sprint speed. Everything else he’s kept and improved since 2011-2015.

I think the average person who no longer watches Messi doesn’t realize these things or doesn’t pick up on these because he doesn’t play in the same way he once did. But he really has lost anything besides speed.

  2. Have you ever noticed that all the teams Messi won a trophy with , had a major help from the refrees?
Have you noticed he never won without the refrees helping?

  3. And even then, he barely takes a run with the ball.
Because of his shorter than average height, he relies om the fact that he can keep the ball closer to his feet. Meaning it is already hard to defend a player like him, because it is as easy to touch the man (Messi, in this case).

It is why people like CR7, Van Basten or Neymar have been injured a lot more often.

  4. Yeah I dont think walking around out of possession is necessary to guage how the defense is set up lol. Plently of players do that perfectly well while actually helping out their team with pressing and ball recovery. Its pretty funny how you guys try to convey everything in football as if it has some deep tactical underpinnings when in reality some things just are what they seem.
