Manchester City have declared their interest in Brazilian midfielder Lucas Paqueta. The Hammers star man is believed to be open to a move to the Etihad to play for Pepe Guardiola’s team. West Ham have labelled City’s initial enquiry and unacceptable but would do business for £85M.

  1. We’ve got to try and keep our heads above water until the transfer window closes. Our first five games will be awful while we try and get in players and settle them in with little or no attempt to score. I can even see us starting with a false 9 and selling Antonio. Worse still it gives Moyes an excuse to a poor start and keeping his job. We are a complete shambles and will be in the bottom 3 for quite a while even though I think we’ll survive and get out of the group stages as Europe will give us a chance to bed in any new players, even though I’m terrified who they will be

  2. It almost feels like other Premiership Clubs are actively trying to relgate WHU without even playing a single game! This, plus all the insane prices whenever we make approaches you know?…

  3. Not sure why we would be surprised…
Declan left to win trophy’s & Scammaca going as well as everyone else wanting to jump ship, seriously who wants to play for Moyes really who would want to come to West Ham knowing all the crap we are gonna serve up this season or as long as Moyes is at the helm … we are serious relegation candidates A SAD FACT

  4. so we can spend all season now thinking about another great players inevitable departure. or.. get rid of Moyes now, cancel the Maguire deal and get some players that Paqueta might want to actually play with

  5. Bloody hell. West Ham cry that clubs are hiking their prices for the players we want to go after (by we I mean DS, DM, TS etc) and whilst I understand Paqueta has 4 years on his contract makes me laugh that an offer of £75M which is £25 over roughly what we paid for him and straight away WH are like yeah we'll sell him but we demand £85M minimum 🙄 Can't be upset that clubs are doing it to us when we do it to other clubs

  6. They gave known for a while and have already tried to mitigate it. Moyes was never dropping Soucek for JWP or McTominay, they were always Paquetta replacements.
We probably won’t get over 10 goals from open play this season, we are gearing up for 9 months of set pieces. This will be Moyesball turned up to 11 😢

  7. When West Ham should be kicking on from their European triumph, the club says, "Hold my beer." Having already lost Decs, losing Paqueta will be a massive kick in the boll**ks. This time next year, we'll no doubt be selling Alvarez. The only way to keep these top players is to A) Bring in more top players to accompany those already at the club and B) Bring in a manager that plays an attacking style of football that the players, and fans, enjoy.

  8. This club is a joke if they sell Paqueta. He is the only flair player we have in midfield and possibly the whole squad. The fact that we could be selling him & buying one-trick pony James Ward-Prowse is disgraceful. I can already picture how we're going to play…….sit back and then try and score a goal from a set-piece. The thing is is that we have to rely on scoring goals from set-pieces the whole time because we have zero pace to beat other players even though Moyes wants us to be a counter-attacking team. David you need pace to be a counter-attacking team!!! I can't bare watching this style of football any longer.

  9. Well at least we're getting decent money for players who want to leave now. We need to find someone quick. Maybe Connor Gallagher would be a good replacement for him?

  10. If city want paquta city get him
    85 mill sell
Don’t want a player who doesn’t want to play for us
He only came good in last 3rd of season.
Obviously loyalty isn’t a word parqueta understands
    Go get olise from palace

  11. We are preparing old players for 1 season, when moyes gone we are stick with old players that most modern managers may not want to use… well done David Sullivan 💆‍♂️

  12. I'm hoping that Paqueta will stay for one more season – being as he has 4 more years left on his contract. Paqueta won't do a Cresswell. Next season for 85 million, fair enough.

  13. I'm not worried. I don't think he'll go this season: he's tied down, but if he does, that's why we've got Steidten. Bayer Leverkusen seemed to have 4 or 5 Paqueta's on the field when we played them. 85 million? If that's the case, then I'm sure TS can find one or two players for less than 40-50 million with great potential and the same ability. He's shown that.

  14. We have to be strong and remember that the club is a business first. If a club wants to buy our best player, we set our price.. and if they pay it we take the money and buy the next one. Selling players doesn’t have to be a bad thing… as long as we don’t replace our best players with McTominay and JWP…. 🤔 oh shit…

  15. Evidently, Sullivan is the bottleneck, and until he goes nothing will change. We need new owners with a fresh vision and zeal who are not afraid to appoint new young blood.

  16. If the chairman and board don’t give a fuck about our opinions we need to boycot them by not turning up to games! This is a joke and depressing me every day I read the news of our transfer rumours if we lose paquetta we are relegated for certain and moyes is still here???

  17. Moyes has been a hugely successful manager for us, and I’m sure with his hand picked targets he’ll continue to be so, but he has made it impossible for a skilled player prosper at West Ham. Watch Bowen go to NUFC next summer. I’m sorry, I just don’t want to watch this football anymore. I just don’t.

  18. I will be absolutely gutted if he leaves, truly gut-wrenching. Dreadful transfer window.

Our best player and where all our creativity comes from. As much as we don't want him to leave we know he's a top class player and deserves a better manager that allows him to play. I'm still digesting these news cause it's like a one-way ticket to a mental breakdown. Utterly upsetting.

  19. How do Man City spending like this when they are being looked at.
Let’s say we lose him we have Alvarez and if we sign Fofana and JWP that midfield looks alright to me

  20. A spending spree on 30 + year old players. Proven premiership quality. Solid, loyal do what they are told. Can't wait.

  21. Great player.
It really hurts to admit he was never going to stay in mid table?? Enjoyed him while at west ham.
    Dererves success wherever he plays.

  22. Tell guardiola to go fu.king do one…..talk about trying to buy success..too much negativity about all this…lucas is our player he's a cup winner and is starting to really show what he's about…bollocks to this it makes sense to sell him and all that crap…where has he said he wants to go?..heads been turned pal…don't you know the difference?
