I think they've ignored the possibility that it was KDB telling the medical team/Pep he was fit to play when maybe he actually wasn't. They only really considered it from a Pep not trusting KDB POV, rather than the other way around. If you're a player in the City squad, with so many other talented players around you, it must be scary to think about losing your place to another player as it might prove difficult to get it back. Especially when you're aging and starting to look injury prone.

It’s almost as if Rory is trying to find some way to find a crack in the team when the glue has always been Pep😂. Pep always finds a way to adjust the team and the system and still finds a way to win. Foden isn’t the typical KDB replacement but he is still very good at what he does in midfield. Kovacic so far has fit like a glove. Gvardiol has only been there for about a month and is already playing in big games and making crucial tackles. So far it’s worked. As a Liverpool fan it’s kind of frustrating but you can’t help but admire it.
Replace really isn't the right word but I vote for Florian Wirtz next window
