Uruguay defeated South Korea 2-1 in a friendly match in Seoul, thanks to a second-half goal by midfielder Matias Vecino. The 31-year-old scored from close range after a free kick by Joaquin Piquerez was parried by the Korean goalkeeper. Uruguay had taken an early lead through defender Sebastian Coates, but South Korea equalized after the break with a goal by Hwang In-beom. The hosts had two late goals disallowed by VAR, as Uruguay held on for the victory.
