Maddison has it all, skill AND personality. Eriksen and Kane didnt.
The way i see it, Erickson has superior passing range and techniques. Dembele ability enables Erickson time and space to make play. Madison has more direct approach and his dribbling ability make the space for himself. Bissuma enable he to play without fear of losing the ball and bissuma progressive ability to carry the ball also make use of the space Maddison create via his dribble.

Erik sen had great vision but could not tackle. I think Madders is a more rounded player. But it’s still early days.

Not yet, but we will see in a couple years if he is better than Eriksen. Too soon. Eriksen ran for days and his vision was insane. Madison May strike a better ball though.

I do agree Madders will show he is a better player but I would also add that the players around him and the style is better than Eriksen had to deal with, so perhaps it is a slightly skewed comparison
Johnny is very ignorant. No Championship sides are not beating La Liga sides. He clearly does not watch La Liga to come up with that nonsense.
PL sides struggle against La Liga sides every time they play them, let alone a Championship side.
Erikson is massively over-rated. A good player for sure but not world class and nowhere near the quality of Hoddle, Gazza or Modric. More like the level of a Michael Carrick.
They're different players so it's difficult to compare.
You can't argue with the numbers Eriksen delivered at his time at spurs but personally I can't help but feel like Maddison is the exact type of player we have needed for years.
Maddison is a better fit imo but has some work to do before he is considered a great spurs player.
You guys have a serious case of recency bias. Eriksen was incredible in his prime. He was a different type of player, he used to pass the ball more rather than carrying the ball like Maddison, but he has players like Dembele to carry the ball and players like Dele making runs. His vision and distribution was second to none. Maddison is class, but I dont know if we can say he is the best 10/8 in the world. Whereas Eriksen was in that bracket in his prime along side Ozil etc.

For me yes. He can tackle too unlike Eriksen which was something he can't or won't do. He's good yes but not world class.

Maddison is better because i believe goal scoring and leadership wise is better , Erikson used to cover more groud and better chance creations but James is good at passing too
