      Arsenals biggest mistake was thinking they nearly won the league last season and they could just add depth. Man City are a great side, Liverpool and other teams had dropped off and were likely to come again. Arsenals main requirement this season was to cement themselves as the 2nd best team, improve their weaknesses and close the gap. The Rice signing was a great one, but i agree with Piers, the GK is becoming an un-nessacary distraction to what seemed a very together dressing room. Fit CB's and Rice covering was always likely to strengthen that defence anyway. Havertz, much like Utd signing Mount seemed more a case of hes available rather than a signing they needed. Most of all they needed a striker, they needed a Giroud style player who could come off the bench and give them something different. A player who can hold up the ball, allow the team to get up the pitch and slow the game down in difficult moments. If you asked anyone what Arsenal were missing last season, Rice, yes, a 3rd quality CB, maybe, a different type of striker available to them, definitely. A rotational option in goal and Havertz, not on anyone apart from Arteta's list.

      As a neutral..morgan is wrong..spurs were the better side overall and could easily have won it. ..as for rice..I see nothing that he does apart from run amd pass sideways

      Piers your a flip flop mate you were sayin the same about abu till you saw the docmentary GET over it – ramsdale has been in cruise control lets now seenwhat hes about and this goes for all players if your not at it expect to be replaced..

      There is no goalkeeper problem at arsenal the manager has made his decision move on.Our problem is a striker and the right choice is Osihmen if we want to win the league not toney or any other mediocre british player
