Costa Rica put on a united front during training on Tuesday as the team geared up for their opening World Cup 2022 match against Spain.
Luis Fernando Suarez’s team are known for their solidity, after conceding only eight goals in qualifying – and for their ability to counterattack.
Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Keylor Navas, is set to start for the central America side in their Group E game at the Al Thumama Stadium on Wednesday.
Although Spain are considered favourites to beat Costa Rica, the Central American side, led by 35-year-old Navas, have been in this situation before, topping their Brazil 2014 World Cup group ahead of England, Italy, and Uruguay.
Costa Rica and Spain are joined in Group E by Germany and Japan.
