Lionel Messi said that Paris Saint-Germain did not recognise his achievement after winning the World Cup with Argentina last year and spoke about his future in an interview aired on Thursday.
“I was the only player who didn’t receive recognition (for winning the World Cup), compared to my 25 other Argentine teammates,” said Messi during an interview he gave in his house in Miami to radio Olga of Buenos Aires.
The Argentina captain also said his two-year stay at Paris Saint-Germain didn’t go as expected but dismissed rumours of a friction between him and Kylian Mbappe.
“After the Copa America, we’ll see. It also depends on how I feel … I’ll see day by day how I feel. There are still three years to go,” he said when asked about the possibility of playing in the 2026 World Cup.

Messi talked about the multiple awards he’s received and said the most important ones for him are the collective ones.
The 36-year-old returned to Inter Miami’s lineup on Wednesday but was subbed off in the 37th minute in their match against Toronto, after spending a few minutes laboring with what appeared to be a leg issue.
