Saudi Arabia held a training session on Sunday, at the training sites in Sealine Umm Saad in preparation for their first match against Argentina at the World Cup.
The Saudi national team announced, through an official statement on Saturday, that Riyadh Sharahili had been injured, before the start of the tournament.
The Green Falcons have the unenviable task of opening their Qatar campaign against Argentina.
They subsequently tackle Robert Lewandowski and Poland, then complete their Group C fixtures with a game against Mexico.
In five World Cup appearances, the Green Falcons have progressed beyond the group stage only once, on their competition debut at USA 1994.
