Vinicius to Gavi: “It’s unfortunate…you’re OUT of the Copa Del Rey”

Vinicius Junior and Gavi were in each other’s faces during Wednesday evening’s Copa del Rey semi-final clash between Real Madrid and Barcelona.

The zippy winger and Gavi were involved in a moment of madness in the first half of the Spanish Cup during the fifth meeting between the Clasico giants this season.

Despite the ugly scene between the pair, the match lived up to its billing as Real Madrid staged a stunning fightback, putting their archrivals to the sword.

What happened?
Gavi, known for wearing his heart on his sleeve, was confronted by Vinicius Junior to register his displeasure, SportBIBLE reports

The Brazilian was directly in the face of Gavi as the pair exchanged a couple of words before the former pushed the Spanish youngster away.

Vini’s bullish act did not sit well with the Barcelona midfielder, who tried to retaliate but was held back by Eduardo Camavinga, forestalling what could have resulted in fisticuffs and eventual send-offs.

While both managed to stay on the pitch, they picked yellow cards each for their troubles.

Vinicius would go on to play an instrumental role in helping Real Madrid overturn a first-leg deficit to punch their ticket to the Copa del Rey final.

Karim Benzema continued his purple patch in front of the goal with a sublime second-half hat trick complimenting Vini’s first-half strike as Madrid shocked the Catalan giants in their own backyard, per the Guardian.

In a contrasting scene, Sports Brief reported that Vinicius Junior demonstrated a touching gesture towards Ronald Araujo during Real Madrid’s La Liga top liner against fierce rivals FC Barcelona at Camp Nou.

The Madrid winger has been in blistering form for Los Blancos this campaign, almost invincible against any defender, but often struggles whenever he comes up with Araujo.

Vini quickly approached his compatriot to console him after he scored an unfortunate own goal during the tie, which eventually went in favour of Barca.
