      Ok, what am I missing?

      The way LBGT are harping on, I thought Henderson was secretly Gay!!

      Does it really matter what reasons he joined the Saudi League for?

      What the f…has it got to do with that soppy LBGTABCDEFG+, or whatever they are called.

      Saudi have their laws, they are entitled to their own laws and if they do not allow gay behavior, then that is their right.

      I have nothing against the Gay Community, I have lots of Gay friends and I lived in Brighton for over 20 years, but what a mistake it was to let them out of the closet and giving them a voice.

      Any chance they get, they are on their soapboxes and spouting.

      They make it out to be their God given right, to be right "all the time" and that ONLY their opinion and actions matter and count.

      There is freedom of speech and of course I am all for it, but someone should tell them, "they are not the be all and end all, other people are entitled to their opinions and to live their lives the way they want to and do not need to be bullied by other's opinions".

      They certainly do not need to be made to justify a perfectly normal, life decision, for himself and hos family, to some organization, who quite frankly got on my pecks a looooong time ago.

      But it also goes to show just how fickle Footballers are.

      Not so long ago Henderson stood there, with the England Team, holding up banners as to how wrong it was to stop peoples right to be Gay (?) and now he is playing in a Country, in a League, for the very thing he was "supposed" to be dead against, but that still does not give the Gay Community the right to bully him in this way.

      I love the things Hendo did to earn his place at LFC, we saw him grind out a level that lifted LFC to the top, winning everything BUT he has tarnished his football legacy by taking the retirement money. He spent most of his successful time's at LFC preaching about equality, acceptance, inclusion etc only to then sign for a club that would lock him away if he dared risk upsetting them with those very same speeches and flag waving! I say hats off to Milner, stayed in the PL and still putting in work to retire a football legend and not another novelty retirement package in a glorified exhibition league. We saw China,USA try the same things to grow their own leagues but the fact is they'll always have to spend billions on older players and nobody will ever grow up dreaming of playing in those leagues, maybe when the Saudis buy the CL governing body to rewrite it to include them..

      I don't see how an England International can be called up to the England team if the player is playing in the Saudi league. Surely, the standards of football are way lower over there. ⚽️ 🏟 💰

      As if any one of us would turn down hundreds of thousands of £s a week to play football in Saudi Arabia.

      A lot of people in this country didn’t agree with the Iraq and Afghanistan wars but they still lived and worked in the UK.

      Why anyone get emotionally invested in players is beyond me. Who cares if he left for money. I am a Liverpool supporter but I don't fret if a player leaves or we miss out on a player transfer. It's a fucking game and it is meant to be viewed as entertainment. Liverpool fans are just as bad as Dallas Cowboys fans.

      First of all, there a a great deal of hypocrisy when people get on their moral high horses and criticise Henderson. Most of the hatred towards him has come from rival fans or Liverpool hating pundits. Their views (many in the comments on here) should be discarded as malicious garbage. This pundit discussion today is a little more tactful and Townsend and McCoist are trying to rationalise Henderson's decision without outright condemning him. They have to be careful not to paint themselves as morally pure because many in the media have already done that and come off as the biggest hypocrites of all. Many of those hypocrites forget Henderson's service to Liverpool and his vocal support for the LGBTQ community which is a lot more than they or many other players have done, yet they escape condemnation.
