In this brand new series on our channel, we are going to be analysing tactics that we see from Liverpool in some of the games that we play in various competitions and see what we did right and what went wrong!

In this second episode, we take a look at the box midfield – a tactical innovation that encapsulated last season and look how at how the same midfield formation can be so different between the three main teams who played it. We look at John Stones from Manchester City, Oleksandr Zinchenko from Arsenal and Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool and see how each of their roles were so radically different in the boxes that their teams played as well as talking a bit about what we can expect going forward from Trent and why Tottenham are not playing a box midfield but doing something that is completely different even though it may look similar on the surface.
