Looking at the latest goings on in and around Tottenham Hotspur this week.

  1. Apologies everyone. Just before halfway through, the audio goes out of sync slightly, probably connected with me saying it looked like the screen shifted. At least it's another reason not to look at my face!

  2. Harry talks about "the winning mentality " yet makes sure he goes to a team that would have him where he is guaranteed winning their league he wont make a blind bit of difference they wont win the UCL because as we know very well when it gets down to the nitty gritty he goes missing . I hope Ange slammed the door behind him when he left with "and dont come back"

  3. One again Alasdair, you make a dull day great. Also as you would have been aware Air conditioning is the norm in Australia. Today in Cairns 29c with 80% humidity. We are only 11 days into spring.

  4. Hi Ali Q&A question: with your love for films and writing would you ever consider writing your own script?

also are there any films or franchises you’re looking forward to?

  5. Yes the sound went out of sync and I think the camera does move about which happens for me too – think it’s a setting! Great video again and loads to cover. Re the fan forum another example of sections of the fan base just looking at everything through a negative light – any communication with the fans is surely to be encouraged. Thanks again Alasdair – looking forward to Sheffield Utd this weekend

  6. Disliking the international break is very much a big club fan thing. For a lot of teams, it’s the only time they can see a team they support on the TV.

  7. Hi Alasdair, once again, really informative 'podcast', firstly, being an Aussie I can give you a good tip on keeping your home cool on hot days, open up your house overnight to let in the cool air and then completely shut it up in the morning when you wake up, including drawing all your curtains etc closed to prevent any sunlight from entering, this way you'll trap the cold in and slow down the heat from outside entering your house, anyhow keep the house closed until such time as the inside temperature starts to reach the same as the temperature outside, and aside from an air-conditioning unit goes, you should be able to keep cool in your closed up home just using a small fan up close and facing straight at you. As far as airconditioning units go, you could buy yourself a reverse cycle airconditioning unit, the type that we all use in Australia, basically it's a heater in the winter and a cooler in the summer.

Anyhow, back to footy, I don't mind this international break at the moment because it's giving Postecoglou an extra 2 weeks to embed his tatics into the players left at home, and considering the very short and interrupted preseason Spurs had, then any extra training time these players have to learn the Postecoglou system of playing, surely that can't be a bad thing. Lastly, as an Aussie I'm pretty happy with our 2 all draw in Texas USA against a pretty good Mexican team which we weren't given much chance of beating, we should have won as we were leading 2 nil in the second half before they scored 2 goals to equalise and one of those goals was a dodgy penalty.

Anyhow, keep up the good work, cheers and thanks, Mark Hutchinson 🇦🇺

  8. I'm still waiting for the Alan Dixon interview, his role is fascinating to me. That mean was doing everything, I'm so curious whether he's working in the same capacity for Ange

  9. Southgate is another Conte…Boring DEFENSIVE football!
Players not playing to their strengths but their weaknesses
England will Never ever win anything with him in Charge and feel sorry for Maddison in this system….Come back premier League games soon 😞

  10. I think Aggelos is counting on Davies as a replacement for Micky, and Dier as a replacement for Guti. What do you think? Also, can you please comment if the transfer of Bryan Gil is the worst transfer of all the time, having in mind that we spend an enormous amount of money for a young raw talent, in exchange of Coco Lamela who gave everything for the shirt, but also considering that we loaned him back to Sevilla where Gil was a replacement for Lamela and they both went all the way and won the Europa League?

  11. Cheers Ally. Mate, you are doing my OCD nut in. I didn't know I had it until someone pointed it out to me! I'm still getting over the 'sofa' level being slightly out, although it has improved of late, seeing the lip-synching error, and now you are pointing out the possible camera moving, which I am focused on, aargh. 😱 🤣😂🤣

  12. I think Spurs have been very fair towards Lloris, since he wants to try something else, and I believe the club will do whatever to help him find another club. The decision must be with Lloris when he will be leaving, and as a fan, I don't mind if he stays the contract out, but I think the club and manager are correct to keep him out of the first team.

  13. "rectus capitis posterior" is in the neck, not the leg. There's no such thing as "rectus posterior" in the leg. so I think your source is questionable. Maybe it was a mistranslation, but it sounds like BS to me.

  14. Kane’s comments were accurate – largely due to the fact he’s now playing in the 4th best league in Europe so the competition is much weaker. To be honest I don’t expect a great deal of respect from Kane towards spurs- these comments were consistent with him failing to turn up for training in 2021 and a general lack of warmth towards the club when he’s interviewed. In his awkward interviews on US TV shows/YouTube channels he would refer to spurs as something along the lines of ‘the club I play for at the moment’. Think he resented playing for spurs. Perhaps he was right to, but of course the media coverage he got portrayed a local lad who you was uniquely loyal to his team so the fans expect more.

  15. the kane comments annoyed me a bit not quite as much as some😅the thing i don't like is why say this now after you leave why not say it in public when your there. I'm not having this garbage about you cant as a player speak out you absolutely can when your the face of the club and vice captain and England captain that makes you culpable as well . but hey ho lets move on with ange ball COYS

  16. Alasdair – love your videos and look forward to them every week. My only comment would be to stop giving the angry fans so much air time – angry that Kane answered a question, angry that Lloris and Dier haven't left yet etc. I want to speak up for the fans who respect these players, appreciate what they gave to THFC and realise it's time for them to move but it's not always that easy. Certainly no need to sl*g the players off as they are just looking after their careers.

  17. Agree on the nonsense that is International Breaks.
If there was one good thing about the aborted Super League is was the threat by UEFA and FIFA to ban players from those clubs to play internationals.
Some threat. “We UEFA and FIFA are not going to take away players being paid a fortune by clubs to play more games and run the risk of injury solely for our financial benefit.”
Meanwhile here we are,the clubs income stream dries up, TV companies have no club games, loss of advertising revenue.
Then last and it would seem the very least, the poor season ticket holder getting no games and in general all club supporters deprived of watching their teams for two weeks at a time.

It’s probably against some FIFA rule. However could clubs just stand up to FIFA and suggest to players a top up of their already crazy wages to not play international games.
    Just a thought.
