Jordan Henderson has defended his switch to Al-Ettifaq from Liverpool in an interview with The Athletic.
Henderson’s move to Saudi Arabia came amongst criticism from LGBTQ+ groups.
Homosexuality is illegal and punishable by death in Saudi Arabia, while the state stands accused of a host of other abuses including placing harsh restrictions on women’s rights and the right to political protest.

One thing you can definitely say about the alphabet people is that they are incredibly stupid and naive. Most of these comments seem to miss the point, Henderson was a massive LGBTQ advocate. He did everything from rainbow laces to commercials preaching about equality. People aren't criticising him because of his massive pay now, they're criticising him for holding the moral high ground openly then selling his morality to work in a country where his "values" are illegal and immoral. You can take whatever pay you want, but you can't be a fervent advocate of something and then sell that for a bigger pay check. There's ano argument about it, it's pure hypocrisy.
