I suppose he did say that money was one of the factors but not the only reason. The athletic wrote this at the bottom of the article. That does not excuse the fact the as LFC fans we hoped that he's going to be around for a few more years. But fair play he mentioned reducing minutes and england factor played a bigger role. If the money factor is completely excluded, I suppose players like him (Milner etc) are still around in PL or other leagues so there is no way he'd go there to keep up for an england spot.
Funny how all the stunning and brave lgbt warriors suddenly don't want to be stunning and brave when they're in a country like saudi arabia where there's actual oppression
Absolutely absurd to expect a player to say he's moving for money and openly show complete disregard for the Saudi League. Nobody says they are going to Man Utd because of money but everyone knows that's a prominent incentive.
He doesn't need to come out and say its about tge money, we all know that already, he judt doesn't have to come out and lie to our faces that its not about money. Firmino is there, Fab is there and Mane is also there and none of them have comeout to talk nonsense.
Just shut up, enjoy the money, you deserve it for all your effort for LFC, you're nit getting any younger. We understand that
I am a Liverpool fan.. most overrated garbage player ever to play for Liverpool let alone captain.. with gerrard and this team we could have won more. Good he showed his true couloirs egoistic insecure prick
ease up guys, it's always been about who pays your wages! most of the muslim players playing in the premier league are against LBGTQ (due to religious reasons) but never said anything. never wondered why? because its gonna affect their wages! in regards to hendo, its exactly the same just in the opposite side of the spectrum. give him some slack, these are people who kick a ball around for a living for our entertainment and that's it.
He didn't say "it's not about the money", he said "it's not ALL about the money". No reason that can't be true, pretty sure he said the money was part of the reason but he's saying LFC probably weren't gonna play him much, he didn't have many/other offers, Stevie G wanted him – so it's not nonsense. Get off his back, just because he's moved somewhere and getting paid a decent wage at the tail-end of his career, people are moaning. And thanks for the shout-out to Rotherham 😂
Would Jordan wear rainbow laces? Footballers were forced to make political statements by wearing Ukraine colours, taking the knee, then rainbow LGBTQ, I'd like to make a case for Palestinian flags on players sleeve to support people who are living through a genocide. I hope the The Athletic takes up the cause
Bugger off. We would all do the same for our family(and your grandkids grandkids). Hendo supported them now they stab him in the back. Why would you support LGBT? They rely on everyone bar themselves to carry their own cause. Hypocrites
With all the Henderson mockery here, most United fans would have welcomed a Harry Maguire transfer to Saudi Arabia. No United fan would have cared about how much money Maguire would have made, as long as United recieved a substantial fee. Hypocrisy is rife man.
Like most people have said here, I'm a Liverpool fan and I love Jordan Henderson. I think he knows all too well he won't be taken seriously with this statement as if you asked him behind closed doors he wouldn't say such things. Of course the money played a big role. Having said that, when I move jobs I never say it's about the money, even when it is.

Leave JH ALONE! Who wouldn’t take that opportunity.

Change the culture in saudi arabia? Keep your disgusting nonsense to yourselves
Ruben neves litterely came out and said he left wolves for saudi for the money. Whats the point in lying. 😅

I’m not gonna slag Henderson, he’s gone, he’s part of history as regards Liverpool now.
Nothing wrong about leaving to Saudi for the money. It's one of the reasons why people want to come to the PL ⛳
just leave him alone, yall want him to leave then when he leave you said its about money.
Is it Gerrard who decides a player to sign or owners?

Football is the greediest sport on the planet!
Lol that Gludeblodge thinks in any way the Man United is HIS club.
The greatest shame is that here in the UK we still don’t have an environment in which LGBTQ players feel safe enough to come out.
We need to address the homophobia and medieval values that must still be happening in the dressing room and terraces.
Who is the co-host with Mark? I think he's extremely witty and likeable.
