    Maguire WON’T Go! Howson Reacts



    Reportedly, the £30 million deal for Harry Maguire has fallen through or ‘stalled’, according to Steinberg and Sky Sports. According to Simon Stone, it’s over concerns from West Ham whether or not Maguire is prepared to join them. Neil Custis reckons that Maguire is demanding a £15 million pay-off from United to see him leave the club. Steinberg added that there is a chance the deal could be revived, but it is not going ahead at the moment, and Jason Burt of the Telegraph added that West Ham expect to sign an alternative defender instead of Harry Maguire in the next 24 hours. This could block our approach for either Pavard or Todibo, as Maguire’s sale was supposed to be the catalyst for signing another centre back.

      So the Club signs bad contracts and players should pay for it? If it is time for him to go, release the guy and pay for your own mistakes and stop attacking others for them.

      Look, the real problem is the contract that Man U gave Maguire. You can't blame Maguire for digging in his heels and this is going to be the pattern of things until contracts are revised, renegotiated and renewed/not renewed on a season by season basis. Players in the premiership are paid sufficiently well it is about time that reciprocity swung the other way in favour of the clubs. There have been significant changes in contracts before, the Bosman ruling allowing players freedom of movement to move for free when their contract ends and George Eastham who took the FA to the High Court who ruled the transfer system as it then was, 1960, was an unreasonable restraint on trade. These changes have all been one way in favour of the players. The clubs now need to make changes in their and their fans interest. Call it the Maguire ruling (we'll never forget the guy) and start the era of season by season contracts.

      Ive always had a soft spot for Man Utd and always will but after that display against Tottenham, If I were Maguire I would get out of that football club as soon as possible. Players who don't try and owner-obsessed supporters who boo their own players. Its all toxic.

      If that is what Harry wants then why not. He's entitled to ask what he wants & if not stay where he is. I don't know what all the fuss is about, the club can afford it.

      He doesn't want to take a step down and play for west ham so if utd really want him gone then he's entitled to demand they pay him the remaining wages that's left on his existing contract.
      Harry Maguire is absolutely correct in prioritizing Harry Maguire and his family over man utd. You wanna point fingers then point them squarely at the glazers for overpaying him in wages

      harry is dead right, hes a below average premier leauge defender and he know it. he get shown up on the pitch several times every game but its not his fault man utd offered him 10 million a year in basic wages. most other club can not do that . this is all on man utd

      Bro when harry nearly scored against onana dam that wouldve killed off harry maguire for the rest of hes life .. but harry should go the lad is just not good enough to play for united nor is good enough to sit on the bench hes confidence is on a all time low all the time .. its crazy how Manchester united can hold on to such dead wood players ..harry should be embarrassed of himself tired of the lad bringing united Down is time was long time Up at man united

      Neil custis who writs for that paper and is a member who united believe would make them better in the public eye. He isn’t impartial. Now don’t get me wrong harry maguire isn’t a United standard player. Never was never was capable of being that kind of defender but he didn’t ask for his price and when it comes to wages wow united overpaid. And now you want him out and yes I’d want him out at my club as well but he wants paying to leave. Why not. He can sit on the bench and too many united players have done this in the past because of stupid wages. The problem isn’t maguire it’s who you put your faith in in negotiations for personal terms. They should be the ones getting sacked. And as for custis well he will only report what the club will allow him to. So really who’s at fault maguire maybe a little bit Utd themselves are at fault. Now get those glazers out get new ownership and get back to somewhere where you believe to be. As your heritage and history deserves. Because as a Liverpool supporter I want united back to there strongest so it means something if we beat you. No sour feelings or brinkmanship just a massive football fan who appreciates good football and would like to see it back at old Trafford.

      I was 😡 ANGRY when we signed McGuire, He was NEVER GOOD enough for UTD & we paid 65/ 70 million POUNDS TOO MUCH for him, Can't sprint ,read the game, pass tackle he's f.cking RUBBISH. … pathetic plonker .
      Ole took us backwards loved him as player but as coach wasted couple of hundred million pounds & couple of years

      The same problem will happen to Chelsea but on a bigger scale. Players on big contracts for 6 to 8 years, how do you move them on if it doesn’t work out?

      Thanks manu for letting him ponce about so much now we have bought a. Cheaper better cb for a lot less good luck with him 95 percent did not want any thing to do with the no mark .
