Jamie Carragher EXPLAINES Trent Alexander Arnold NEW Position | Leeds United vs Liverpool 1-6

This new role has been designed to provide more protection to the midfield and make Liverpool more defensively sound. In the last couple of games, Trent has played in a holding midfield position alongside Fabinho, which has freed up attacking midfield players Curtis Jones and Jordan Henderson.
Trent’s involvement in the midfield has been impressive, with 153 touches in one game – the second most of any Premier League player this season. His position is as much defensive as it is about him getting on the ball, and he has been providing quality from a non-conventional fullback position.
Trent’s running and passing ability have caused problems for opposing teams, and he has been compared to Kevin De Bruyne in terms of his creativity and defense-splitting passes. Liverpool needs to find a way to consistently get Trent on the ball in midfield, as he is a rare talent in world football and can create goal after goal.
We hope you enjoy this in-depth look at Liverpool’s new tactics and the impact it could have on their upcoming matches. Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe to stay up to date with all the latest football news and analysis!

The inverted fullback has been a thing for over 60 years in football. Pep did not invent this. Just look at Nilton Santos in WC 1958 for god's sake! Besides that – good intel. Carra knows his stuff.
It's the equivalent to putting an idiot in charge of the circus
i don’t get the people saying “he’s just copying pep” obviously he is, everyone who plays a 4-3-3 is copying cruyff. Every time a new formation is made obviously there’s a first to use it but u don’t have to say he’s just copying whoever cus anyone who’s ever done anything if copying the person who did it first
