Foden is great but he's not going to be a game-changer for England, I don't think he has a lot of strength. I cannot see him being the difference maker. I don't think he would've done anything against USA. Very gifted young player but everyone is talking about him like he's Maradona and he's just gonna come on the pitch, beat three or four defenders and score a goal. Honestly, when has he ever done anything like that for England before? I'm not against him playing but I don't expect much from him.

The reason Southgate plays Mount is because its an easy spineless choice. Mount is a good player, both off the ball and on it, but he isnt exceptional at either. In all three group games, England should have been playing Kane in a free role and rotating 3 players ahead of him ie Foden/Grealish/Sterling/Saka/Rashford/Wilson. At least then, when England plays more pragmatic approach in KO stages, teams will fear England with 30/25 mins to go if we go back to playing like we could have in the groups. The USA didn't seem concerned at all in that last 25 mins. They knew Southgate wouldn't go for it and they would be fine for the point.
