The problem with… series is back and this time we take a deep-dive into the future of former Tottenham Hotspur club and France captain Hugo Lloris.

The World Cup winner looked set to leave the club to join Serie A outfit Lazio, but the Italian club’s manager Maurizio Sarri did not guarantee Lloris a starting spot – so there is a chance he could now stay at Spurs!

Lloris also turned down a move to Saudi Arabia aka the Saudi Pro League and not many other clubs are watching him in Europe!

Many fans are now split on Lloris and his future with not many showing respect to our highest Premier League appearance maker, but I think it has been a disgrace how the situation has been handled by the club and Daniel Levy.

Especially after it was a given that Lloris was off due to not coming on our pre-season tour, the arrival of new goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario and Heung-Min Son (์†ํฅ๋ฏผ) becoming our new club captain after the departure of Harry Kane!

Let me know what you make of the Hugo Lloris situation.

  1. Lloris is not at the standard anymore, and itโ€™s a given that his time is up. He has been a great servant to Tottenham and deserves more respect. He could for the next season be a great mentor to Vicario. Letโ€™s not forget, vicario was responsible for 2 of the goals in the 4-2 loss to Barcelona, he was out of position, fundamentally basic errors. He also should have stopped one of the Brentford Goals which cost 2 points in the first game of the season, but fans easily overlook that! He had a blinder against United, which gives me some solace, but Lloris has lifted the World Cup twice, and he has knowledge that could be invaluable to vicario. Also, of the 5 goalkeepers at the club presently, can anybody honestly say Lloris isnโ€™t in the top 2? The reason Llevy wants him gone the most is because of his wages, but is that whatโ€™s best for Tottenham right now? Vicario in goal right now has shown he makes just as many mistakes as Lloris does, but thanks to Levy a proven top quality player wasnโ€™t worth spending ยฃ8m more for, which is absurd. If he stays, doesnโ€™t play, pulls ยฃ200k a week, and mentors Vicario, I donโ€™t care that Lloris stays! Iโ€™m certainly not going to worry about the finances of the worlds most profitable football club when the chairman doesnโ€™t give a shit about the fact that the trophy cabinet is empty, or whether better players are available but he refuses to spend because it affects his pocket! Why do fans expect players to do what is right for the club, but continue to support a chairman that is only in it for profit?

  2. I totally agree with you Sonny honestly I love Hugo but he isn't the same keeper as he once was and obviously age is a factor – but it's actually incredibly disrespectful he's being treated. He was one of the best keepers in the prem in his prime and was a leader – i think we need to give him a proper farewell because I think its safe to say he is an absolute club legend.

P.S also is it possible if you make your next video about strategies such as signings, building up our academy so that we can win a trophy? can you shout me out for the idea please?
