They had a lot of midfield ‘bodies’ last season and we saw how that worked out. So, don’t really see how you can say that Liverpool don’t need him (or indeed another ‘body’ in midfield)

Not a good fit for LFC…He is mediocre at best..
My biggest issue with him as a City fan isn't his injury record. It's the fact that it looks like he's thinking at 0.75 speed, and running in mud with 20 lb ankle weights. I don't know if it's confidence, nervousness, or maybe the injuries had major impacts, but his decision making in the few games he played were shocking. Constantly underhit passes, or passed behind teammates. But as underwhelming as he was in possession, off possession was even worse. He got dribbled with ease, provided absolutely no protection for the backline, couldn't cut out passing lanes, he was just running about like an NPC

honestly cant this liverpool going in for phillips he just doesnt fit, i think we will go for a cb or rb as klopp will scrap the trent at rb and midfield as its too confusing teams are slaughtering us down that side. i think he will just have trent in midfield as he was in englands team

Let’s hope this isn’t true for the sake of liverpool. This signing would be awful, he’s not played minutes and just a good player. We need great players that have potential for the future. Philips is a squad player at best, right now we need a solid CDM for the future and also a left footed CB.
