I bet you if you put Alisson or Ederson or any other goalkeeper with great distribution, none of those United midfielders or forwards have the ability to actually win an aerial ball, unless you walk over and put the ball at their feet in which they will lose it within 5 seconds anyway.
this was never his fault, any long ball like that could be on any team. i think this was the fault of the players in the field, they were not hard to work for the ball. i watched this hoping to see where he passed the ball to a city player in an isolated position but there were still united players there who could not go for the ball

The Man United players have to improve on their ball reception and aerial ball contention as there were about 7 half decent balls that if our players actually tried to receive they would . That would be good even if we did end up replacing De Gea with a Costa next season

I think hates DDG, because midfielders and CFs are responsible for the long drop balls from the keeper but if u watched the match u can even recall that non of them jumped to fight for the ball. Even when man city players dropped the ball, our players were so reluctant and respondant. I’ve watched almost every match this season. The dispute isn’t about saves, it’s about the style of play and philosophy. It must be insane for someone outside looking in, that De Gea just won the golden glove, and insist United need a new keeper. It’s about 50/50 De Gea making spectacular saves VS him taking the piss. There’s a reason no other top clubs have been linked to him. Spain shares the same possession based philosophy and De Gea can’t make that team either. He’s a United legend for sure and will go down as one of the best GK’s to play – with a very lucrative contract. But the times have caught up with him, modern GK’s are a thing. Some coaches will care more than others that their keeper can pass, but ETH appears like he’s staying for good, and United need to support his style of play.

the issue imo is the forward. you cant play short.. Haaland will just snatch from u.. and in few clips united players never even jumped to get the ball..
