Arsenal looks set to complete the signing of their first summer transfer this week, bringing in Chelsea’s Kai Havertz for a reported £65m. But while the talk has been of how well the German international fits into Mikel Arteta’s system, it might actually be the ways he doesn’t that make him such an important acquisition.

Another great video from my main man Adam Clery!
Height, pace, technique, pressing. He’s going to explode under Arteta.
Great videos since Clery came in
Swindon town is falling down 🤣 Come on you yellows, Oxford till I die
Great breakdown. I’ve been completely baffled by this signing. But when you start looking at the Xhaka role in the box midfield, the need for a 2nd False 9 option on top of Jesus and Havertz’s underlying heading stats… it starts making a lot lot more sense. Top video. 👊
"The real reason Arsenal signed Havertz…I would say: "because they are nuts".
Especially for that £68m, £210k a week wage.
He WILL bomb at Arsenal, no matter what Arteta tries, just like he has bombed for whoever else, or whatever Club he has played for and when Arteta has exhausted every tactic, every permutation, paired Havertz with every Player going, it still have not worked out and Arteta is at the end of his rope, Arsenal will be selling him on….Just like every other Club Haverts has played for has done.
Glad to see more people realizing he is going to play that Xhaka role and not just bashing the player just because he had an unproductive season at Chelsea.
I can't lie, it's a good thing you brought up those heading stats because off the eye test alone, I wouldn't think he was particularly good in the air.
Chelsea will regret this sale.
Give Havertz jersey no. 16.
Excellent analysis! I’ve been trying to articulate this to guys in other Arsenal groups and most just didn’t get it! They want Rice to play the Xhaka role 🤣😂😂 how wrong they are!
Basically speaking, Arteta did an amazing job transforming Xhaka into a key goal scoring false no9 – no8. What you just did in this analysis is prove to everyone that Havertz is a huge upgrade on Xhaka!
I immediately hit subscribe button and activated all notifications! Well done . Am a fan now👍🏾
Poor man's John Hartson. Would rather have ESR there. Also reckon Fabio will come good.
Kai is ok but rice noo
Arteta turned Xhaka into a goal scoring machine(compared to the rest of his career) Havertz in the same position running late into the box will be scary
People always talking about Ø as this creator, which he is, but also scored the most goals from midfield ever this year. He’s a goal threat, my concern is you need balance, you can’t have havertz and oedegard as goal threats, one needs to drop and for me, I’d rather that not be our captain.
I can understand other people doing that but, this channel that seems serious comparing Salah and KDB failing at Chelsea with havertz failling at Chelsea?? When combined they had 20 games, some coming from the bench when havertz had 3 years starting most of the games, lost of credibility with that!!!
Havertz is good at headers…don't make me laugh! Good luck with him…personally, glad to see the back of him!
Cheers mate enjoyed that
Arsenal have purposely started playing more direct football and not playing down the wings and crossing which is why they had such a good season, if they go back to crossing like any other bottom half club I guarantee arsenal will not get too 4, crosses only work for certain clubs, arsenal are a direct and counter attacking team and they do it well.
All the money Arsenal received for qualifying for the CL and the only players in their squad to have won it are 2 Chelsea rejects who they got rinsed for 80m quid for.
What a fucking shambles
You just don't spend 65M on player for headers do ya he's shown at chelsea he's not good enough he won't do well
Why not simply use ESR in this role and spend the money elsewhere??
Buddy, it's 'JAYzus', he isn't a Spanish speaker, 'HAYzus' is the Spanish pronunciation. You really should get this right if you're doing a video about football 🤡
With more mistakes than a socialist government.
Buddy re-record if literally everything you say is wrong 🤡
"Women's world cup in the magazine" 🤡🤡🤡
I must remember to not buy that. Nobody watches wamenz football bubba, nobody cares. Do you wanna Virtue Signal or do you wanna make money selling magazines? Seems like the former hahaha
The Over-enthusiasm of the presenter is pretty annoying. Content was spot on
My thought at first was this, "What the hell is Arteta cooking?"
But then I realized how good he was at 2022 World Cup.
To be fair, to place him as the number 8 would be a risky move, or exactly a gamble.
However, I think what Arteta wanted is to get a replacement for and also exceeds Xhaka (or Ozil but striker).
Havertz isn't really a natural target-man, I've been saying this for ages, but he isn't a playmaker either. So, it is possible that he would have given a free role which allows him to roam free, similar to raumdeuter but something different – I thought of 4-1-3-1-1 formation where he would have placed as some kind of a deep-lying forward to support Jesus. And with Odergaard as the CAM instead of "sharing" roles with Havertz, it would have been more efficient thus given more clarity of which duty each of these players. So, I propose that Havertz will be a shadow striker to Jesus.
Will Kai provide the same leadership, passion, and grit that Xhaka did for Arsenal? Any true Arsenal fan knows there is a difference when Xhaka is out of the lineup. They might not be able to put their finger on what exactly it is, but they know the team isn't the same. No doubt that Kai is more talented and technical than Xhaka, but what Xhaka provided last season was exactly what Arsenal needed..
How you call Jesus as Jesus is the same way you call Joe Biden as Joe Biden😂😂😂
He seemed to score a few in Germany
Most encouraging explanation I’ve seen for this signing
❤
What culture football??
The second you said "headers" I turned the video off. Everyone knows Havertz is good at headers and this was the first thing most people thought. I'm not sure where you think this is some unique theory no one has thought of. Wasted time on your crap.
Wait…trek culture? 😂
I think what people are missing is that sometimes in football there are no numbers, just floating players… the Arsenal box midfield are all no8s pending their position in play.
An insightful analysis.
Smith Rowe will hopefully compete with Kai and they will both benefit from a healthy competition
Arteta must be having sleepless nights these days due to excitement for his new team for the upcoming season😎
brilliant
I just realized I've seen Adam Clery on WhatCulture. No wonder that voice sounded so familiar.
No way 6’4 is playing SF lol positionless don’t mean they Can play any position 6’4 SG PG or Compo Guard that’s all
Christ you dragged that out
Makes you wonder why Chelsea didn't try a few more crosses to him. But I guess it didn't suit their style of play, as Lukaku also found out. So it sounds as if his heading gives Arsenal an extra option if their usual pretty football is running up against a brick wall, which seems no bad thing. I reckon Arsenal will do well again this season despite the higher workload from Champions League.
6'4" is an average sg at best
Speaking of 'headers'; has ANY player in World Cup History EVER done what Yerry Mina did for Colombia in 2018???
3 Headers,3 goals(100%) with 2 lone goal game winners AND a 93rd minute equaliser to take the game to Overtime????
Think He deserves some sorta Medal since I CAN'T see Anyone matching that……EVERR!😂😂❤🇬🇾😎
Havertz good at headers? He won nothing in the air today and missed two extremely getable chances
