Two first half strikes and Kawasaki Frontale’s cross-bar helped the hosts take all three points against Kashima Antlers. A 2nd minute tap-in from Shogo Taniguchi and an impressive control and shot from Tatsuya Hasegawa in the 30th minute gave Kawasaki a 2-0 lead, before Leandro Damião turned a Kawasaki corner into his own net, two minutes later. 18-year-old forward Itsuki Someno had the chance to snatch a draw for Kashima in the closing stages but his powerful strike slammed against the cross-bar and bounced clear.
