The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) robbed Iran’s national football team of hosting their group’s matches in Iran. Instead, they gave the rights to Bahrain who are also in Iran’s group. The Asian Football Confederation could have easily moved Group C’s matches to a different location, but they decided to make it political. The AFC’s President Sheik Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa (from Bahrain) and Secretary General Windsor John ignored the sensitivity of the situation, not acting accordingly or professionally.
Iran’s Football Federation took the matter to CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport) but the case was not dealt with in time prior to the qualification matches commencing in June 2021.

The reason AFC moved these matches to Bahrain is due to Bahrain’s insecurity against this Iranian team/generation of players. They are trying to play mind games (because we’ve never won in Bahrain) and believe that they have a chance. Ama koor khoondan. In reality, they fear this Iranian team. They think these dirty tactics will help them. But they have no idea what’s coming for them tomorrow, no idea.
1) This team isn’t the same unorganized Team Melli under Marc Wilmots.
2) This team is VERY aware of the situation and of the task at hand.
3) This team is not the same 2001 team that crumbled. They will die before letting Bahrain win. Team Melli is playing their home game in Bahrain 😉
