    Arsenal are interested in signing Brentford goalkeeper David Raya to compete with Aaron Ramsdale for the No 1 spot.

    Talks are ongoing behind the scenes about the next step and whether Arsenal will formalise their interest with a bid.

    Arsenal tried to sign Raya, who has one year left on his contract, in the summer of 2020 but saw a number of offers rejected.

      I don’t like it. Ramsdale for me is right up there and raya isn’t an improvement. People can differ from my opinion that’s up to them. No issues there. The issue is if ramsdale starts #1 he makes a mistake the fans go “see he is crap get raya in” then raya comes in and makes an error the ramsdale fans go” he is crap why did you disrespect ramsdale” it upsets the balance of having a number 1. If you want to push ramsdale get someone like a navas who has experience. Two the same age both thinking I am number one is gonna lead to unrest in my opinion.

      Why are these sky sports presenters trying to start a mess here. Arsenal hv Prem and UCL to over each goal keeper 💯 so there’s no room for unhappiness! And Aaron is someone that will come that competition! No room for bad blood…

      I like Ramsdale, amazing reflex keeper, reminds me of Fabianski before him. But just like Fab, he's got a mistake in him, plus his distribution is awful. An Arteta team wants distribution, to build from the back, just like City do with Ederson, but I've watched Ramsdale boot 90% of his long balls in to the crowd so far this preseaon.

      Gives so much more than just
      Being a keeper, his passion, his ability to get the crowd going gives us a lot extra, even if turner leaves hein will be a good number two, the last position we need to strengthen is in goal, we need a striker amd back up for Saka, that money could be spent in much better ways plus it’s gonna cause an upset in a balanced squad

      I wish Arteta would focus all his remaining resources on 1 final signing this window, that being Caicedo! That would be ruthless! That would be ambitious! That would be a show of foresight because this is likely Partey's last season with Arsenal.

      Ramsdale and Rays can be both number 1, just need to rest their minds while the other plays

      I think the word compete is not in context here, it's an aggregation. Every time one is on the pitch it will always be an experience of two plus experience. If Edu and Arteta will pull this, then Arsenal will concede the least number of goals in this upcoming season.
