  1. this will only happen if turner leaves for a good price. n then i don’t see it as a 35/40m transfer; it’d be a 15/20m transfer depending on how much turner goes for, which is a great deal

  2. raya and ramsdale are both great with the ball but do provide different things. 4 competitions will allow for tonnes of minutes plus variation in tactics.

  3. I think it's more to do with how the Brighton keeper plays out from the back only third in the pl last season for accurate passes.

  4. If this happens, then it’s even more scary the amount of influence Arteta and Edu have on top pedigree players.

From Brentford to be competing for games at Arsenal is absolutely mouth watering. We have FA Cup and CL games, and 38 league games to compete for. Out field players compete regularly for these games and why should goalkeepers be left out of these?

When this is explained well to a keeper, I think they are willing to consider this.

  5. This is bad idea because after this season Turner, Ramsdale, Raya, only 1 will want to stay, because no one is a no 2 there, Turner is the only one who was patient, but he would want to move as well if Raya is coming, then Ramsdale will want to leave if Raya becomes 1, or Raya wants to go if he isn't being picked!

  6. Can see this move as a swift kick up the assfor Ramsdale. He's said it himself he thrives off competition, but he has looked sloppy in preseason and he certainly tailed off at the end of last season. Raya's age profile is perfect for a keeper to work alongside Ramsdale and push him while he is still young and making mistakes. Can see us having Raya x Ramsdale pushing each other for starts for a long time with one being preferred to the other changing throughout the years. Seems like a 'market opportunity' deal as Brentford have already signed his replacement and the expiration of his contract. Combine that with the fact that Forest are keen on Turner, makes sense to move him on and get Raya in for a small net spend.

  7. Well, if it acts as a power up for a year, possibly two and helps us win some trophies then so be it. I do have a soft spot for my Rammers though but he’d improve I think faster with competition. He’d also give Reya a run for his money. They both would. There isn’t a huge amount between them tbh. But I’d rather the money go towards a striker/RW at this time ofc.

  8. Lets be honest Turner did okey but he’s no where good enough to challenge Ramsdale. I like Ramsdale delivers under pressure but he has cost us a lot of points due to some vital mistakes. Good shot stopper but thats every keepers job. I think David Raya is coming in to be our first choice keeper if were paying 44 mill

  9. Ramsy is really fantastic,,,But this time he really need a good run for his money,,,at times his childish blunders worries me a lot…..Raya is a good investment especially when we are competing for both EPL championship and UEFA.

  10. Completely ridiculous. Turner is useless but if we can't find a cheaper no 2 than 40mil, edu & Co need their heads checked.

2 keepers but nketiah as back up striker. Brilliant

  11. We still need players in other positions, why waste resources to bring in a goalie when we already have a very capable back up

  12. Everything you are saying is valid. But that lad in the background is making way more sense. His comments "eurgh" that translates too "both Raya and Ramsdale are fantastic with their feet the competition should be healthy " was deep and incisive

  13. Why did Arsenal sign the most defensive CDM on the planet? Havertz. Why an inverting fullback who doesn’t have Zinny’s defensive weaknesses? Havertz. Why is Arsenal interested in David Raya? Havertz. Could Ramsdale accurately kick the ball to Ivan Toney???? I know fans don’t rate Kai but Arteta is building his squad around Kai’s skill set !!!😂😂😂

  14. Great analysis. Right now, I don't see this as a slight on Ramsdale. If it goes through, Raya is at this stage only replacing Turner. Yes, in the long term as you say, it could lead to friction from the non-chosen keeper – but at this stage, that is arguably not Arteta's main concern. Am I worried for Aaron? Short-term, given he is 25-years-old and seems to have elite ambitions and a growth mindset, I'm not at all concerned. At the very worst, Ramsdale's foray into the Champions League for the first time, would be thrilling for him – or alternatively same would go for Raya. Most importantly, would having two keepers like Ramsdale and Raya upset the culture? This would entirely depend on the individuals. Will it likely improve the overall quality of our keeping? Yes. And have we needed that? Absolutely yes. The rest to me, is not the concern. We are trying to win things in the short-term. Let's worry about the long-term later: and move forward with the keeper who impresses the most. Alternatively, remake the model as requiring two keepers [rules are made to be broken]. Vamos, Mikel, onwards, Arsenal. Lez Doo Dis!
