Nottingham Forest #nffc number one transfer target this summer is Ibrahim Sangaré according to reporter John Percy, the PSV player has been linked to Forest all summer and with a release clause understood to be around the £35 million mark, this would be an excellent signing.
The Ivory Coast International has been linked with numerous clubs over the past few years, including #premierleague rivals Man Utd and Liverpool, but has yet to make the move from the Dutch league. With Sangare highly thought of around europe and with a number of other clubs interested in him, Forest might need to look at alternatives for the defensive midfielder position with the likes of Leicester City’s Ndidi and Leeds Utd’s Adam both reportedly on the shopping list of boss Steve Cooper. Also mentioned in John Percy’s report is that #nottinghamforest are willing to sell Welsh wonderkid Brennan Johnson, if they received a fee of around £50 million. The reason for this is to help Forest keep inline with FFP rules, after spending big last summer both on transfer fees and wages.

I’ve rewatched all of Johnson’s goals from last year and unless he’s got the right service he isn’t that creative…and nowhere near as threatening as he should be as a finisher. He appears to only score from the right side at a certain angle. Greater good of the team I’d say

Like you and all good Reds, I love Brennan Johnson but I also think it would be brilliant for the club to sell him to Villa to allow the club to profit (greater good) and him to taste European football.
Would rather go for a cheaper keeper than Hendo than sell Johnno. That could reduce the cost of Sangare by around £ 15M. Also if you use the Johnno money to buy additional or more expensive players then it has fuck all benefit for FFP as the impact on profit would be nil
Selling johnson would be dumb need to build a team around johnson and gibbs white slap a price tag on johnson of 80 million
It may be that we end up with a 3-4-2-1 which drops to a 5-4-1 in defence. As always it will depend on us getting into a 3-2-4-1 when pushing forward and hopefully as often as possible

The positive with Elanga, is that he is prepared to embrace and integrate into the whole Forest culture.

Sangare would be quality. Height-speed-tackling. Adams isn’t much of an upgrade on Mangala and Ndidi would be an awful signing
