Not good enough to be starter we will need another star midfielder if Gundogan leaves, also we are getting no links to wingers, this club and its board so fucking complecent
Hopefully a good signing. The success rate for signings is high but not perfect. Technically good, retains the ball, can carry and pass through the lines.
No club in England has won Senior competitive trophies over a wider span of time, as far back in history from the present day of 2022-2023 than we have.
Manchester City won the FA Cup in 1903-1904, our first major trophy; Manchester United earned the League title (their first major trophy) in 1908-1909. We both won trophies this latest season 2022-2023, therefore we have the longest span of winning currently recognised major senior trophies bookended by FA Cups, this latest one part of a treble, alongside a 3-peat — BOTH in one season ( MU did theirs in separate seasons) — a period straddling one hundred and nineteen years of human experience, compared to one hundred and fourteen — Fact!
History is a period of time, preferably punctuated with successes, achievements, acquisitions, and accolades.
The club was founded in 1894, (anyone here even know about another now defunct club by the name of Manchester Central FC?) Manchester City supported Manchester Utd financially during an extended rough spell – even as far as financing the purchase their uniforms on occasion back in the day, and won the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1970 against Górnik Zabrze (Polish League) in Vienna. We've done much more within that time.
City 'til I die! 🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵 since 1999-2000. Ex player Joe Royle was Manager and we'd recently returned from relegation the previous season, beating Gillingham in the Play-Offs, coincident with The Devil's winning their Treble.
Starts 3:18
You're really pushing this signing Steve. I can't get excited! We need fresh legs in our midfield. I'd rather see Gabri Viega
Someone is definitely leaving now, Gundo or Bernardo I think both players probably peaked when we won the UCL
Don'r understand all the debbie downers moaning about signing Kovacic. I don't know if these people haven't been watching football for longer than 2 years but Kovacic was an immense player at Real Madrid and was pivotol for Chelsea when they won the champions league. Top signing that'll only bolster our midfield dominance in games.
A thing I like about Kovacic is that I can’t see him having that first season syndrome at City. I think he’s almost a perfect fit straight away
The key thing is that we are signing players who said they wanted to play for man city he's a hard working player.
At Chelsea, in form, he was impossible to cover and never lost the ball. Very very happy with this signing! He’ll fit right in
3:18 Manchester City won the treble
Does anyone else notice the L that goes up the screen on the left of Steven.
If there has been one player that I've wanted off Chelsea's team from the last 3-4 years, then Mateo Kovacic is the one. He is class. He has been good enough to play for Inter, Real, and Chelsea. He is a top player and I think tailor made for City.
If Pep can sort his fouling out then he’ll be a great signing. Assists defence goals, he can do it all
Concerns me that his purchase means that gundo is definitely going
I Ssee Gundo as a creative attacking midfielder. Kova is more of an old fashioned box to box midfielder, but with a lot of quality.
I am very pleased with this signing.
Looks like Gundo will go. That is 15 g/a out the door. NEED A WINGER. Kovacic pretty decent. Can provide some relief to Rodri. At least 3 years in him.
Brilliant signing best opposition player at the Etihad last season, I was sat there thinking he would fit our team so well and Pep saw it. He has a better honours list than anyone at our club we need to respect that. Happy days indeed 👏💙🏆🏆🏆
12:38 why the ** not. Get excited.
Kovacic is the reason why i agree with Gundo to Barcelona. Gundo is a true Man City legend!
Underwhelming signing.
We asked for Jude, they gave us Kova 😮
Obviously a gundo replacement
I will miss Gundo alot, but having Kova will sort of make up for it. Esp if Foden moves to midfield. Also Walker needs to re-assert him self. Stay and fight. He has to know that not every match will be suited to his style of play, so sometimes Johnny will be needed and sometimes Rico. That's just life. Your expertise will be needed when deemed ready.
