A captain without the armband. Great signing. We needed a player with his steel and discipline. We've got to control the ball better though. He and Ndombele don't have enough options and often have to hit it long. We really need another creative midfielder who can get on the ball and help us build attacks.

Pierre has been excellent this season but every now and then he has games where his passing is too sideways and backwards. There were moments in the game where he received the ball and could have turned and looked to be progressive, but instead he went for the safe option of going backwards or sideways. When he's playing well however he doesn't do it, he is progressive and brave on the ball and moves it quickly. Just something to be mindful of to take his game to the next level of consistency.
mourinho once said there is a difference between 'leader' and 'captain'. think he is truly a leader on the pitch. keep up the hard work.
