#Danny Garcia bested Robert Guerrero in a high-octane brawl, winning a unanimous decision to become a two-division world champion at 147 pounds.

Robert Guerrero knew Danny Garcia is sometimes a slow starter in fights. So it’s not surprising that he came out firing at Staples Center in Los Angeles, hoping to score the quick strike.

For five rounds in the 147-pound title clash, “The Ghost” blasted away with body shots that kept Garcia on the defensive and fighting backward. But by the sixth, Garcia settled into a groove and drove home thunderous counter hooks that took some of the wind out of Guerrero’s sails.

Some, but not all.

Guerrero shook off a few punishing shots and kept on coming. In what was still a fight well within reach, Guerrero came back and took the 10th after Garcia dominated the middle rounds, putting the outcome of the bout once again in doubt.

The 12th proved to be the most thrilling round not only of the night but of a young 2016, as both fighters went all out, trading heavy punishment as the crowd jumped out of their seats.

Neither man could put the other one on the canvas, though. In the end, Garcia’s dominant middle rounds proved too much for Guerrero to overcome, as all three judges saw it 116-112 for the unbeaten Philadelphia native, who with the victory became a two-time world champ.

  1. Guerrero is a bit reckless… Garcia can disable him with a well timed hit. Still fighting… my prediction after 3 round.
After 7 round: Guerrero dares Danny a bit… Goes after Danny like Danny will not hit back. Poor defence.

  2. It's amazing everyone but the PBC announcer knows that Danny Garcia has the most telegraphed no-look hook in the sport of boxing today. But when talking about that same punch by a PBC commentator he says it's the best left hook in boxing which is complete bulshit. And don't get me wrong I like Danny Garcia. I don't think he's ever got the credit he deserves. But the PBC as illegitimate boxing promotion is a joke. None of these PbC Fighters will ever fight another fighter who does not belong to the PbC. And I understand why boxers fight for PbC because they get paid and they have constant worked World their own stable but they're never truly building a legacy because they're not fighting the other best that belong to other promotions. All that PBC and Al Haymon are doing are keeping whatever belts their fighters have in that promotion alone. The world wants to see Spence Thurman. The world wants to see all these great fighters from different promotional backgrounds face each other

  3. I remember watching this fight live. Even tho I was rooting for Guerrero, Danny Garcia really caught my eye & I completely understood why he was nicknamed Swift

  4. If Danny would had just fired his dad and got a better trainer to teach him footwork he would’ve been a hell of a fighter

  5. Garcia looking like a master boxer in there, Loma type. All thanks to Guerrero, who just goes forward like an ox and gets picked apart by shots left and right. 116-112 is good for Guerrero, could've been wider. His best work was at 126 and 130. Totally different fighter at 147.

  6. $alute P.B.C. on bringing the classic uploads, to all the fanatics world wide. I for one, love the "$weet $cience of boxing"! My fitted cap, goes off to both warriors, Robert "the Ghost" Veterano & Danny"$wift", for giving the audience their money's worth, in that squared circle. Godspeed everyone involved with the Bness of boxing.

  7. Guerrero has a great chin. Bro was taking a lot of shots due to him being focused on moving forward which he paid the price for. Garcia had a great fight.
