Inability to change formations, change tactics during games, and make the right subs, and call up the best players
It’s not that I don’t like Berhalter I don’t his tactics and subs, even player selections in the World Cup were weird. Like not calling up Pepi when he helped us in qualifiers. He was out coached in the Netherlands game. I just feel we seen what he can do we need someone else. And coach Callaghan seems like a good choice for now, I feel we should see what he does for us. But then the players really like Berhalter so I can’t say too much on that.
BJ Proved the right player and roster is key. No washed up MLS players needed. GGG needs to open his mind on tactics and open styles of play
We had moved on from him
Terrible decision to bring back that silly coach. With all the momentum that the MSL just got by getting Messi here having that young, talented U.S. men's team and the World Cup being held here. The U.S. should have gone after a real name, not an AYSO coach.
It could be the last game Gio played for USMNT. How can he trust Berhalter to play under his guides? Berhalter thown him under the bus after the World Cup. Besides, He loves his family more than Berhalter or USMNT.
The dysfunctionality of USSF is a major problem because, unlike Mexico where large numbers people are willing to spend $200 for a ticket and $100 for a jersey, Americans still need to be convinced to buy stuff and tune in. It's hard to do when the USSF keeps doing stuff that turns people off and the team is not good enough to let their play speak loudly enough to drown out all of the federation BS. Our team is getting there, but it is not there yet.
Fire alexi lalas corporate sell out and fire berhalter!
Hey alexi you ever wonder how you supposedly have this gigantic platform on fox yet you have 8k subscribers? Its because the american soccer public do not respect you or your opinions. You enable the ussf and berhalter. Instead of being honest about them. The only thing keeping your station is an executive at fox who probably knows nothing about the sport. You hold no standing in the soccer community.
Nobody respects or appreciates your opinion except for that fox executive.
It's a no brainer. I think Gregg Berhalter is pretty much aware of how important Gio Reyna is for the team. His performance in the games against Grenada and El Salvador was nothing really to boast of, but what he did just now against Mexico and Canada shows the kind of player he can be, and how much he can improve the USMNT.
Gregg is incompetent and untalented. Everybody knows that except Lalas and the corrupt US federation.
No scoring and struggles to make it to third place in CONCACAF. MLS has-beens and never-will-bes featured in the line-up. Guys like Jordan Morris had a limited role once upon a time in a team and with a coach that was flexible enough to see his weaknesses along with strengths. Guys like Jesus Ferreira are simply not good enough for MNT duty at their career positions. It shouldn't take a genius coach to see that.
The good news is that Berhalter has the FULL support of the players he starts in every match, at least. Player unity amongst the good old boys complacency network means stuff, right? Too bad JK never respected who REALLY runs the USSF and USMNT!
A quick exit from the 2026 World Cup.
I'm hoping that Berhalter plays Gio as a 10 and doesn't bring any MLS players to important camps outside of a CB or two at most. My expectation is more Ferreira, Morris, Yedlin, etc., no Gio in the midfield, and more away draws against vastly inferior opponents.
What do I want to see:
1) Let go of his favorites that are not up to the National game level. We all know the names.
2) Play Reyna in the middle. (Not something GGG ever tried.) Reyna takes the corners.
3) Let go of an overly complicated system or micro-managing. It just puts the players in their heads.
4) We don't always have to play out of the back, vary it up some.
5) Take some offensive minded risks. Don't always play overly conservative.
6) Be honest. When we got outplayed by Canada in qualifying. Don't say we played a great game. Whatever is going on with John Brooks, don't say it is about his club form and other BS. etc.
7) Be able to make adjustments based on the opponent.
lowered expectations with GGG at the helm
Not playing his best players including way too many mls players bowing down to MLS influence making things way too complicated in a gratuitous way
We expect BJ to set the lineups
seeing this team play towards its strengths , change formations, tactics, good subs, and play their good players, US soccer decided they cannot do that and went with Berhalter instead.
I think this was just a set up from beginning. Players came on to say they wanted him which only 2 of them said it but why go thru all this?? None of it makes sense!! 2 interim coaches did better than him!! What can he teach these young talents? Nothing!! They are lightyears away!! I bet there are many more players who dont want him back!! He takes things personal n puts his feeling 1st over team n country!! If he starts putting Morris ahead of Pepi and putting horrible old mls players in instead of young talented players team is done!! Players should never put their 2 cents in on coaching!!
Gregg Is Christian Pulisic Lover ,Only He Gonna Promote To Pulisic Nothing Else.
