Whenever one person either thinks they're bigger than the club or has that sense about them disappointing results follow. See: Mourinho & Conte for examples perhaps; just to speculate, maybe Levy will not allow anyone to outshine his importance and perception at least in the media to the identity of the club, and just to further make the point when it's been a manager with perhaps not as much to prove and a more relaxed approach at least as it seems, such as Poch, it's worked out better… no one can doubt Harry Kane's quality or dedication to the club but sometimes especially recently there's been moments where the media makes it seem like Spurs is nothing but HK, like he's bigger than the club; yes he's a world-class superstar, but it can have a detrimental effect on the rest of the team if all they hear is about one of their teammates, and now especially under an Ange system where every player is key and no one is bigger than the process, maybe having all this constant media attention hanging on every word of the transfer saga when there are other areas that arguably unquestionably need more, immediate attention (CBs) it can seem sometimes that the squad and club as a whole might be better off if this situation with Kane is resolved sooner rather than later, it is a new leaf after all and it's hard to argue getting the transfer fee now for Harry with him going to a foreign league is a far better option than waiting one year and watching him go on a free to potentially a rival
I've thought from time to time that Sonny is such quality that sometimes maybe there isn't enough room upfront for both of them, just think how many goals he's scored whilst he is also feeding Kane, on the left doesn't really seem like Sonny's natural position either, I reckon putting Sonny upfront could potentially get more out of him and no one can deny his commitment to the club either, also frees up more room for Kulu and Richi (Brazil's no. 9 is on the bench..) and possibly Kane's replacement which will be of much better quality if the transfer fee is there to be utilised and there are a lot of very exciting strikers in the early 20s range (Osimhen, Hojluund, etc) and others that could be arguably world class eventually … basically if there will be life without Kane eventually better to be prepared rather than have it come out of nowhere with barely or no plan and it be more of a situation than it needs to be, I reckon give Sonny the captaincy if he goes, invest in a world class young striker, set up the squad for the future and it couldn't really be a better time being out of Europe this season with a new attacking manager and system …. move into the future and as much as HK is an irreplaceable legend, maybe it's time to back the rest of the players a bit more ! There is a whole squad that needs to be given attention ! Just saying, if Kane does go, better to see it as an opportunity rather than a drawback.
