The two top men at West Ham United seems to be in disagreement over transfer and player recruitment. Whilst David Moyes wishes to sign players like Harry Maguire, it is understood that Tim Steidtwn is looking to bring in Youssouf Fofana and Ian Maatsen.

After the sh1te prem season we had last year you would honestly want to believe that this year the same mistake wouldn't be made, however good old West Ham, never seem to learn from past mistakes!!! I honestly dread this upcoming season and that's only getting worse the longer this transfer circus goes on ffs 😤
Moyes realises he has only this season so he’s not interested in the long term it’s all about here and now. This situation cannot be maintained for us to succeed, it’s obvious the solution is to sack Moyes !
So bloody true
Urgh
No problem mate, if Steidten brings them in and Moyes don’t play the m and we only win 1 or 2 games in the first seven then sack Moyes, simple.
Gonzo you said moyes select's the team ,dose tha includ buy .
Thank you for your commentary on this ridiculous saga Gonzo . I hope that Steidten prevails in this seeming power struggle .
Everyone loves a golden oldie!
I think it would be quite nice to hear from Tim Steidten. No interview on the West Ham website that I've seen.
You've got to remember we have very few home grown players especially if cressy goes, which means dithering dave is going to want established payers to fill those positions
Season starts in 3 weeks and our team has much less quality now than we had last season and struggled, if players need "time" to adapt then Moyes and the Board are complicit when we inevitably struggle next season
It was questioned towards the beginning of the video that Vlasic may not have been a Moyes signing due to him not getting played, but towards the end of the video it was placed on Moyes shoulders.
Skullduggery..Gonzo.. so Newcastle cannot afford 30mil for Barnes because of ffp rules… out of the blue..saudi backed club agree an inflated 40mil for Saint Maximin and agree 38mil for Barnes..??????? I hope it will be investigated
Why would Steidten have signed on if he hadn't received assurances on transfers. Crazy situation
There is a danger of losing Tim S. I don't think he knew he was walking into this mess
Moyes has got a year left, he wants Maguire and Paulinha, proven, overpriced but Moyes will waste the Rice money to get them to give him the best chance in his final year in Europe and the prem. Whether that runs counter to whats good for West Ham in the long run i dont think it even occurs to him. Its clear he had no compunction about leaving Vkassic in a horrible situation that was none of his own doung, Dave didn't give a rats arse about that, im not suggesting he's malicious, he just compartmentalizes, and if it means as a footballer you train and then eat shit for a year, he wont waste anytime thinking about it. I don't think a closed mind like that is helpful in today's game.
Why not let moues buy the defence and Tim on the rest. compromise.
I think the power struggle theory is a good one Gonzo, it’s the only explanation I’ll accept for us not having signed a midfielder atleast by now- it’s not like the club woke up the other day and read the headline that Rice has gone to Arsenal. I think also what’s at play with Moyes is a similar one to Declan where, everyone knows he’s got a maximum 12 months left so it creates an air of awkwardness in the dressing room and also means that our immediate strategy is compromised – no one in the halls of power are telling Moyes to sit in the corner and play with his toys because he won’t be next season. Also wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t see any true Steidten signings until the January window.
Tbf your first point is valid because then it makes sense because then if Moyes knows this makes sense why he keeps saying no
I don't believe that a new owner would be allowed to put someone in. It would be like being in the process of buying a house and going round to decorate, put a new kitchen in before contracts have been exchanged. Not going to happen.
Funny theres been no official welcome press conference or video on Tim from the club..
They just need time to sort transfers. Ideally Steidten would have come in a few months ago and we would be in a better position. That said we are always slow
you have to let moyes have his way.he has brought the club more success than any other manager.if he fails this season he will be gone.he wont get the club relegated.if he is successful he should still call the tune.
Ffs sullivan grow a pair and get this p—k moyes out of our club. His cost you millions already on losses on players so grow a pair or sell the club now
Attempting to sign players that both parties agree on makes the market very narrow
moyes with one year left is really dangerous, he has no vested interest in buying a young player to develop
I don't think anyone knows anything other than the board and Moyes. So all this "speculation" is just that.
Should have a no buy over 25 policy.
What no moystiometer
We should have hotten rid of Moyes and start fresh.
Take that all day long with stieden getting in the players and moyes refusing to play them which would result in moyes sacked and not before time. I have no time for that narcistic p—k moyes and never will .
Gonzo we're going to sign Carlos Borges from City – get watching the Youtube compilations because he looks like your type of player! Excited to see what he's like.
can i ask a Q ? if we spend 0 to min money this window and in January 2024 , where does it leave us and a new owner regarding FFP ? is it easier to sell/ find new owners with no FFP hanging over our heads i'd assume so ..
Honestly this club just seems really poorly run at the recruitment level. Why on earth would you bring in a DOF while Moyes is still there I don't get it. I'll be surprised if we sign more than 1 player before deadline day. and then there will be a panic spunk of all the Declan money (and more ) on 5th choice signings, over paying for all of them.
Old saying to many cooks. Comes to mind. 👍🤔
Maybe the alternative view is Tim S just in post, window not been open that long, & maybe we do our business bit quieter behind the scenes these days? Would rather we take a bit of time to get right players in, not spunk money as happened when Rio went. If come end of window club trot out the "we tried" line then all involved deserve grief.
I can believe there being tensions between Steidten and Moyes, and IMHO Steidten must succeed for the benefit of the club's future. But I put the theory of these shadow future owners in the same box as alien abductions. Wishful thinking emerging as theories.
Keeping Moyes was always going to cause problems, he told the players he was leaving and went back on his word, no wonder there are situations regarding some players staying or going dependent if they can get a move, Moyes should of left on a high last season with his credibility intact, this now will not end well & West Ham and fans will suffer the consequences.
Its interesting and, sadly, I don´t think anyone really know for sure but I feel that Moyes is the cause for players wanting to or being open to leaving and for players we are looking at to join us. Steidten bring players in and Moyes not playing them would not surprise me in the slightest. Its all looking a bit of a mess at the club lately and I dont see it improving anytime soon.
Oh well Sullivan surely has a few people to answer to, we sign Moyes players or sack him
I said it when you lot were gushing over a Director of Football, it's always going to be down to the manager at the end of the day so a power struggle was inevitable!
Morning Gonzo, I can not believe the way I feel about our club. First trophy in decades and all I think about is just…..go.
All the Declan chat, just go.
Antonio running his chops, just go.
I am very pragmatic, I hope I see both sides of the coin. Would we have three years in Europe playing expansive football instead of Moyes ball? Most probably not. Moyes is stuborn and attritional. He has been fighting nonstop on a tight budget for almost all of his managerial career. Which is admirable. But enough is enough. Just go.
Looks like we getting Borges from city, he definitely wouldn’t be a moyes signing
If our bigwigs are making decision based on what a supposed new owner wants, we're frankly a bunch of morons and deserve everything we get.
All sorts of things could change in the next year that means a supposed buyer would no longer be interested, a few being relegation, a different club is available sooner or deemed more attractive, the buyer or part of the consortium backs out for any reason or loses their money, or they need to prop up a different business that is struggling.
In a job interview if they're telling you oh yeah when the new marketing head joins in one month so we'll do this then OK a reasonable expectation, but buying a football club, come on.
Rant over 😂
Like I’ve been saying for well over 18 months all this absolute nonsense of how we are run is going to end in tears I know we won a cup & it was amazing but Moyes should of gone at the end of the season so we could move forward but with Moyes we will totally waste the declan rice money & we will be very lucky to stay up & play the crap Moyes ball plus how many more of our best players will leave before the start of the new season, we are bang in trouble if we don’t bring in some young players but we won’t all over the hill players until the dinosaur Moyes goes.
I dont think Moyes will be in his position for long. We need a new manager, that is more similar to Steidten.
