Here is a comparison and analysis of Jan Oblak and Ivo Grbić’s similar saves.

These two situations are very similar and as dangerous as first sight, but one save ends up with a goal whereas the other one ends up far away from the goal.

Try to have a particular focus on this deflection aspect during shooting drills. Always try to redirect the ball on the sides, even when there is no one to punish you. Deflecting on the sides must become a habit!
