On Sunday, it emerged United had revived interest in Rabiot as they look to revamp their midfield this summer.
Yet Corriere dello Sport say the 28-year-old is now set to stay at Juventus instead and sign a new deal with the club on Wednesday.
It’s claimed Juventus have reached an agreement with Veronique, Rabiot’s mother.

I’d take him all day. He’s a nasty cnut. Just what they need. It’s the most passive, posing Man United team for 20 years. Even the good players . Every great team has a few horrible bastards in it. And he can play. Nice left pin.
Amrabat , Caqueret , Rabiot ok is he better than Sabitzer? If Rabiot is 'free' great , get him . Striker Timo Werner ??????????????? We won't get Hojlund . We need much more mobility in midfield , more all action box to box type players . This summer has become a nightmare . No new owners yet , means no new funds . We might not sign anyone so the likes of Pellistri , Amad , and Malacia could do a job if Erik has his back to the wall . No new money no new signings , like the boyscouts we need ' to be prepared ' for ANYTHING , even selling of big numbers of players might not be possible . All very worrying .
My main concern with getting "anyone" is that short term it is helpful, but long term if we end up getting players of Rabiot on say 5 year deals and huge wages they become a nightmare for the wage structure and it's only justified by the fact they didn't cost anything up front. But it still has the knock on effect of us having to pay higher salaries to anyone we sign in future regardless. But we clearly need a lot of improvements and the way this window is starting to look he would definitely do a job. Catch 22… I'm just gutted for Ten Hag.

I rate Rabiot quite highly tbf hes been smashing it in juventus this season and played really well at the world cup, on a free trasnfer too yes please huge upgrade to our midfield
He can’t do everything Eriksen has done for us this season – nor do everything he can do better. Especially not chance creation and line breaking progressive passing.

I've followed Rabiot since his first games for PSG, coming out of their academy… He's a very, very good player. But he is also known to be a bit of a dick. That's what makes me hesitate about signing him.
And there's his mother/agent. She really IS a f*cking nightmare. She started stinking things up straight away at PSG.

I truly am baffled at the hate McTominay gets. He's marginally better than Rabiot, which was proven statistically last year. And he puts in a great shift every game. And has gone to the fans every time, 7-0 or 5-0 pummelings.
Whether he's good enough is another debate. But he's better than Rabiot and as one of our own academy graduates who's been a mainstay for years he deserves far more respect and love.
And why are we raving about Rabiot's "fantastic season" in which he was part of a Juve team that didn't win their league and were a none entity in the title race. Didn't qualify for the champions League if I remember correctly. And crashed out of BOTH the champion's league and Europa?

He is indeed a great engine and pretty good technically as well. He started at PSG first team from the academy as a Parisian product and always has been kind of isolated by some fans (a lot loved him there and did not want him to leave) because he is coming from a comfortable background unlike most of the Parisian academy players. Also because yes, he defo needs PR… His interviews are not the best although he improved a little with age. Ten Hag will have to keep his mama out of the stadium tho for sure what a pain.

It’s not about long term or short term thinking. We literally don’t have the luxury to think like this. If either Case suspension, Erikson injury or Bruno suspension, our midfield is fucked. We have a wild card in Fred who is not reliable and a damn donkey in McTominay. Rabiot was a wc finalist with France and a vital player in their midfield and is now FREE.
Rabiot on a 'free' (it'll still cost us plenty) but we need strength in depth and we could definitely do worse if we're realistic about the finances during this window.

Footballing ability aside, he has played 417 senior games in the French and Italian top divisions and has lifted 11 major league/cup trophies. He also has 37 caps for his country. Buying top level experience in a 28 year old is not cheap.
From ole’s Pereira Fred Mctominay VDB to ETH’s Casemiro Eriksen (potentially) Rabiot Mount. United midfield is in much better position next season.
Rabiot would help the midfield, period. More ability than Fred or Mctominay. Plus gives us some size. Even with his cons, he’s a good player and that’s what we need. I have no doubt Ten Hag will sort out any drama, as we have seen already.

Romano saying he's very close to signing an extension with Juve now. With City, Arsenal, Newcastle, Liverpool and Chelsea all strengthening we'll be fighting to qualify for the Europa League after next season at this rate.
Free Agents aren't "Free" though. You have higher signing bonuses, agent bungs, and they assume they will get higher wages because there is no transfer fee.
He wants 200k a week to sign a new contract. He's going to want at LEAST that if he comes to United. That's the sort of money most sensible teams pay their number 1 starting player in an important position.
But no… Free Agents are free, they cost nothing… it's like winning a fucking raffle…
Why is it alway United who end up talking about signing players whose baggage is inevitably going to bring them into conflict with the club?
We'll end up signing him on a 4 year deal worth 12 Million a year, and in two years when he's 30, his mum will be demanding that last big pay cheque and the circus will be back in town. We'll just have to hope that when that does happen the Saudi League is still in business and will buy him off us.
Sign the deal and flip him for cash in a year before he has the inevitable mardi French meltdown.

Adding Rabiot and Mount to Eriksen, Casemiro and Fernandes…..that's Quality!! Give him a 2 year contract with an option of one more. Rabiot is quality. Ten Hag can deal with his attitude.

If we got Rabiot on a 2-3 year deal, I’m all for it. BUT we need to sign a young midfielder as well. Rabiot cannot be enough.
