Sad to see Kalvin go and for a fee that seems a bit on the cheap side given that he’s on a similar level to declan rice and the cost it would take to sign riceroni from the hammers. But Leeds sadly don’t have the same kinda leverage to keep Kalvin that west ham do with rice. City knew it and used that to drive the fee down, which is not great for Leeds but cashing in on him and bringing in over 40 million quid for a talent that came thru the academy isn’t a bad bit of business given how many months he was out injured last season. If they can reinvest that money wisely into a stronger midfield without having broken the budget then this will be seen as a successful transfer.

Our hands were tied as KP only wanted to sign for City. Therefore we had to accept what they were offering. KP is nowhere near Rodri as a footballer. If KP had signed a new contract his sale price would have been much higher. I wish KP all the best at City but I’m happy to see him move on given his injuries and that I don’t think he fits a Marsch system. The main benefit is that deal is done early and we can spend the money on maybe two quality replacements to strengthen the squad. Nice to see subscription numbers going up Max. Hope you get to 3k before season starts.
