Manchester United would like a new goalkeeper. David de Gea, although the current Premier League Golden Glove holder, is not the right fit for an Erik ten Hag United side. They want a keeper that is good with their feet.

There are many goalkeepers that are good with their feet these days, so why specifically do the Red Devils need Andre Onana?

JJ Bull explains.

  1. Onana reallly impressed me against City. I hadn't watched him closely until then. I was convinced after that. If he's available for around £55m then it's a great deal.

  2. He reminds me of Barthez. A good keeper, but dodgy… Seriously dodgy. He doesn't catch the ball, always palms it away, and he loves to have the ball at feet. Messing about with the ball in your own 6 yard box is a recipe for disaster in the Prem.

  3. Getting Onana would make me feel less bad about missing out on Kim Min-Jae because him alone makes a huge difference to help us build up from the back and play with a high line, plus he can sweep up as the last line of defense too, he's almost like a Defensive Midfielder/Regista in many ways. We'd still need to buy a ball playing right sided CB either way, I hope we get Todibo because Disasi is apparently slow.

  4. I think it's little unfair of you adding clips when the club didn't have a permanent manager. And the second clip is also jist ten hags first game with lord Maguire in defence. Should have added any other recent game as well . I think onana is the way forward

  5. Completely agree with this. There are some pundits pushing staying with De Gea to prioritise other areas but the fundamental build up play is the most important thing to start implementing so Onana should be priority no 1. It’s a bonus that he knows Ten Hags system inside out too.

  6. Get Onana in pronto and a young understudy to learn from Onana 2 top centre half's 2 midfield players and 1 super striker and sell Sancho Martial maguire Dalot Fred mc Tomminay Elanga and return Sabitzer and Weghorst and get cracking

  7. Onana is very good however despite how confident he is and how good of a passer he is, he does not often sweep outside the box or is used to playing for a team with a high line
