  1. I hope they teach him how to develop a fade and mid range, some of the bigs he gonna be going up against will try to keep him out of the paint real hard. Tyson and Duncan is who he should model his game after.

  2. Stats-wise, it's a bit of a reach. Definitely risky pick for mavs. But if it pays off and he is actually the second coming of chandler, then I'll be damned. But there's the risk that he'll be a Moses Brown or Cauley-Stein.

Hope Tyson Chandler can train him as he did to Moses.

  3. Welcome to dallas man finaly getting a legit center that can block shots and defend really well about time now you can put the german bigman at 4 position and lively at center

  4. As a Mavs fan, Dereck is going to see the most open baskets of his entire life playing with Luka (All-NBA first team guard). Set a good screen, roll to the basket hard, keep your hands up, and get an easy 12-14 points a night without shooting once playing with Luka.

  5. Not sure…Mavs had a similar rookie in their roster. Not sure the name…he was traded still in NBA. Skinny good shot blocker

  6. I want to see him work on his off game and dont be content wit just catching oops ..rudy gobert is content n a liability on offense…get em sum post baby hooks atleadt like the old shaq..but need them blocks hes giving and 🗣️fucking rebounds

  7. I don't even care about his offense. Anything he provides on lobs and dunks is gravy. I care about him shutting down the paint and rebounding for the Mavs. Welcome big fella we need you badly

  8. I compare him to a prime Javale Mcgee/Daniel Gafford hybrid. athletic rim roller who makes his bread with his elite record breaking rim protection. Maybe will show us even more to his game, from the offensive perimeter, which he didnt get to flash so much at duke.

  9. Bro really went to playing with no name PG to best PG in the fucking world 😂😂😂😂 bro gonna be making great moves with Luka.

  10. I love this pick for the mavs, they desperately needed size and athleticism at center.

He's also a smart passer and has floor stretching potential, not just a rim runner.

  11. Kidd already had McGee and didn't use him at all. Didn't use another big man Wood properly either so how are they going to use this kid. He's going to need some development.
