The thing with Havertz is, people don’t realise he’s a “system player” is where the likes of Arteta and Ancelotti see that potential.

The same way the likes of Benzema, Firminio, Rodri and Jorginho are all viewed upon.

It’s fitting them within the right team with the correct chemistry players besides them.

Benzema maybe is the exception there although I’d argue the system he plays in, matches his game perfectly. Imagine Benzema playing on the hard shoulder or as a pure target man for Stoke? Imagine Rodri or Jorginho in a team that defend in a low block and hit on the counter?

Same way there’s no way Firminio carries Liverpool by himself nor without Mane and Salah and there is no way Salah and Mane perform the way they did without Firminio. Hence why it’s a system and a team game. The same way that front 3 cannot provide those performances without the midfield and defence and even goalkeeper.

Once people see this, once they understand football has changed and the likes of Messi, Ronaldo etc are the reason why they are the players are, as they are the only two players in recent times that you can fully rely on their ability to win games which football does not expect these due to the likes of tactics and a TEAM identity.

This is why players like Havertz are signed and people need to see that instead of expecting 20 goals a season he’s going to contribute to the team performances.

Yet, people still have expectations for someone to be an individual.
