  1. One more comment, as bad as Canada was and as good as US looks, this is just a couple of games right after the climax of a World Cup. People are making way too much of these results. There will be numerous twists and turns before the next one. New players, maybe new coaches (Mexico will probably go through 2 or 3), new formations, momentum, etc. Also, US is generally terrible away from home. They will convince me once they play consistently well in away games. The best teams are the ones who play consistently well over a long period- home and away. Also, new countries will emerge (probably Jamaica, maybe Suriname or Curacao or one of the Central American countries will get on a roll).

  2. Canadas gregg berhalter. Bros learning from the clown. I remember gregg coming out once the US lost to canada 2-0 saying the US were dominant. You guys gotta learn possession is just another stat if you have a plan and if you know what you’re doing. The US were super effective. Set pieces too finally. The defense was solid. Canada really had nothing on offense.

  3. Herdman is a joke. Start with the qualifying game in Edmonton v Mexico. His substitution Of AD to allow him a cheer from the home fans very nearly cost us the game. His team preparation for the last qualifying game and arguably the most important game heading into the world cup and deciding our grouping was a disaster. Giving that game up was costly. Then the cherry on top is his amateur behaviour at the World cup with his juvenile comment towards Croatia was just embarrassing. Truth be told, the only reason the Girls coach is now the Mens coach is because (A) he comes cheap and The CSA is poor and ( B) The CSA is a clown show. Signed ( Long time Prov Coach who has many years dealing with the incompetent CSA)

  4. If you know anything about Canadian sports you know he is speaking 100% facts. We are the worst in the developed world at supporting our athletes – in pretty much every sport that isn't Hockey

  5. Seb is right on both points. Herdman deserves criticism for his decisions on Sunday game against a very good US team, and i wish he would acknowledge this.
But he's been sounding alarm on this all week because we do have a major issue here in Canada and Herdman is 100% correct. To give our American friends an idea, we are 3 years before a WC and 1 year from a Copa America, and we have no significant increase in corporate sponsors, no budget to hold training camps, our players are flying economy class, no money to develop a decent U23 program, no major sports network is paying money to broadcast these games, and most casual sports fans have no idea when Canada plays games cause its covered waaaaaaaaaay down the web pages when you look for it. All this is his source of frustration and as a long time follower of this program, i coild assure you he is 💯 correct on this.

  6. The US team is far better than Canada. If Geo was not out of injury, it could go to two or three more goals. Balogun is possibly one of the best strikers in the US team and we found one after a long journey looking for one. He was not only a striker, who is most hungry for making a goal, as I see it, he was running all over the front, even harassing the Canadian goalie several times. He is a phenomenal striker, period. We should be lucky to have him.

  7. Canada were exciting and had a great mentality in qualifying. Herdman was the catalyst for that. Having said that, and for as good as he was, you have to be careful about repeat cycle managers. They didn't win a match in the World Cup but then again, both sides that made their group reached the semis.
