It'd be a completely different thing if Vertonghen was appointed captain (Jan is the most capped player in the history of the Belgium national team btw) over Courtois.
Not sure how close of friends Thibaut and Jan are (there’s definitely no animosity/tension between them, like KDB and Courtois), but I do know that There’s 100% NO WAY Thibaut would have pulled the same stunt he just pulled had JAN got the armband over him!!
However, the fact that Lukaku got the captain armband over BOTH Courtois and Vertonghen…. idk what to say
