I’ll take Perisic as a Alonso replace my, good professional business. Allows time to groom a long term replacement. Abs most importantly, it’s getting business done early. I want The New Chelsea to do business early in the window so we can finally start getting a proper preseason.

I have to say he's still very mobile for 33 even for 29… He has volumes of experience… Less money than Alonso but a better defender and dribbler. He also worked under very defensive minded hard working coaches. He can play in SOOOO many positions with his 4 star weak foot, crossing and pace.
I think it's the perfect move!
He'll get to wind down his career on a larger salary while playing backup minutes even though he's a starting wingback quality as we saw this season.

I sympathize with you. I have not felt anxiety about matches against top teams this season. During most of the season it felt like Chelsea competes with any team. Given Chelsea’s recent form and seeing what Liverpool are doing, I don’t have the usual positivity about the FA Cup. Send me pre-match good vibes!
What people need to understand that Cucurella will want 1st team football and chilwell will soon get to back to his pace so it will be a difficult way to fit both of them in keeping both happy. Perisic will be a smart buy who can fit in perfect and we won’t keep for long and we could get Cucurella later on.
Anyone who saw Perisic against Liverpool he was riping them but Martinez and Dzeko finishing was awful. We need that type of guy who can beat their man and is willing to whip it in with pace and hes both footed. My opinion a good short term buy.

I'm actually surprised Spuds aren't all over this dem potatoe heads. He seems like a Conte type of signing too & I'm sure he's worked with Conte in the past. Perhaps they are waiting to see if they qualify for Champions league first before trying to hijack the deal?
Perisic would be feeding the likes of Lukaku and Kai with his crosses. Two footed and can play both sides as well. This is why Jose wanted Perisic at United when we had Lukaku to feed the strikers balls. Most of Lukaku's goals were scrappy but most of the balls he scored from were through the middle. Only Ashley Young and Mata provided goals from wide areas for his goals. United had the worst creativity at wide players under Jose is why he wanted the likes of Perisic, Alex Sandro and other wide players for their crossing. Also on a free. There's no problem with that. Chelsea's lacked creativity in wide areas but mainly in midfield.
Contrary to the common vibe, I think this is yet again a dumb decision about to be made by our clueless so called scouting team, that only goes for has-beens players or hyped up ones. Why not uncover a promising talents like Liverpool's just done with Diaz. No vision or inspiration at all, absolutely pathetic. Nkuku is a MUST and the club has to move quick for him and let lose of Saul Niguez, Werner and Pulisic!!!
