  1. Finally, correct video was uploaded. That impersonation from Derek from the ESPN woman made me laugh. Nobody in the post match press conference asked Gregg about Caden Clark or Taylor Booth because in asking such questions their press pass might be in risk I guess, and those are tough questions for GGG.

  2. We were a MAN Up…. and you would barely know it…. side to side with no penetration what so ever, our wing fullbacks did next to nothing in attack, our midfield had no connection with the attackers…. and Acosta, Roldan and God save us Yueill… just a cluster fuck from the beginning that got worse as it went on.
This was the epitome of a non event , and we still haven't played against any top national teams all year… yes we played Mexico, but they have had problems scoring themselves this year.
If we attacked down the middle and got free kick opportunities we might have taken advantage of having an extra player.
No outside shooting, not even taking a shot is problem number one… if you never shoot you simply are unlikely to score.
This was a prime time to play someone as a ten when you are playing a man up… change the damned shape and we get chances Gregg…. this was just plain dull as dishwater.
You notice that the players who came in were the ones that linked up on the goal….
This was all after two weeks training and they looked like they had no clue how to run a play, our set plays were still weak or non existent and that has been problematic all damned year .
I had a friend come over to watch it and he was saying it was just dull and we both concentrating on the smoking of the green an this being western New York consuming of the Blue… anything to dull the pain of seeing Jackson Yueill once again.

  3. The lack of creativity in our team (or perhaps more accurately our system) has been probably one of thr biggest points of frustration for me this year. However, lately I am considering that it's not as big of a deal as I once thought. Since it is very likely we qualify, perhaps we should consider the system that is actually going to be implemented in Qatar. In Qatar we will need to rely more on counter attacks and will likely not face an opponent that bunkers in the whole game like we have seen in WCQ. Perhaps the reality of the style of play that we will face in Qatar actually plays to our strengths… Thoughts?

  4. I’m sure I’m over-reacting, but this whole GGG tenure reeks of Steve Sampson and ‘98. Different situations I know, but we got a coach that seems so out of touch w his players. A coach trying to force a playing style on his team, like Sampson w the 3-6-1, that he won’t realize it won’t work until halfway through the first WC game against a quality Euro team. A coach that won’t call up players (or will leave more talented players on the bench) he feels he can’t control.

I hope I’m wrong, and I’ll always root for USA to do well, and Im sure we will qualify…but can you guys actually see us doing ANYTHING in the WC? Like, if we’re down 1-0 against Germany or Netherlands 10mins in, can you see GGG coaching these guys up to fight back? I’m getting more and more convinced the only success our A squad gets is when they go off script and just do their own thing. 🤷‍♂️

  5. great analysis… gregg is a fkng idiot, bringing in JoGo for 10 minutes. If somehow Gomez goes to MX, look back to this dumbass move by gregg.

  6. Crawfish can move. Those little suckers can back up at a surprising rate. You've got to get down here to Louisiana and try some of the succulent little "mini-lobsters". You should come down and hook up with Sam Stokes at Yank Report. He probably knows the Cajun Ninja (check out his YT channel), who could boil up the best batch of crawfish and other Cajun treats.

And when you have a crawfish boil, you have beer … lots of beer. (Although, the Belgian beers I brought up on another comment aren't quite made to pair with crawfish. Now, something light, meant to drink cold, like Jupiler, Stella, or Maes Pils, would do fine. But you'd be better off getting a local brew from Bayou Teche Brewery.)

  7. This camp was such a waist of time. January camp should have been used to regain fitness, and December camp shows you guys who are on the outside looking in, or getting first acclimated.

Did you guys see what Eric Wynalda said after the game? He was more angry after the game then he was after the D-reck Sampson interview.

  8. This game was the ultimate "Gregg being Gregg and doing Gregg things" as you can get. Bad lineup decisions, poor use of subs (time wiseAND player wise), no creativity, lackluster mediocre performance, poor tactics (not getting the most out of his talent), and bailed out at the very end by one of his players with a goal to win. This game was entirely classic Gregg.

  9. I actually posted this on 11yanks but I was so frustrated I felt this had to be said: GGG again with his unfathomable one mindedness keeps going back to playing a set of players who over and over again have demonstrated they are not capable of significantly helping this USMNT. Four players who should NOT have been in this game were Zardes, Roldan, Acosta and Yueill. Three of them have no role going forward while Acosta should only play as a backup 6 until we find someone better. Considering how much more experienced these players were than anyone on Bosnia's team, these players played very poorly and they added NOTHING to providing additional data on who could help the team. Some other younger players also did not advance their cause in being on this team but unlike the older players they have time. Both Bello and Brooks L had very poor games. Of the two I am judging Bello as having the weaker game and that's partly because he is way more experienced with the Nats than BL. Bello kept being bodied off the ball and offered very little in attack. Kessler and Johnny C had ok games but nothing that would say to GGG they need to come into Camp for Qualifying. Up top Pepi had a poor game and while he did offer some nice flicks and passes missed a sitter that he has to put in the net or at the very least force a great save from the keeper. Jesus F was actually the best of a poor group of young starters, but what exactly is his position and where does he fit in with this team? Gomez, Kessler, Slonina and Clark all should have had significant minutes. Here are my ratings (I thought you guys were being very generous for poor play against a C or D team): Turner 6; Lennon 4, Kessler 5, Zimmerman 7.5 MOTM, Bello 3.5, Cardoso 5.5, Roldan 4, Acosta 4, Ferreira 6, Pepi 4 and Morris 7. Subs too little time on the field to have much of a rating, but I would say that Reynolds and Zardes were below expectations, Gomez and Basset above expectations. GGG 4 I continue to believe the USMNT despite their record this year are actually performing below their level. I use Canada as an example. Canada has two players in David and Davies that could start for the USMNT yet Herdman has them playing beyond anyone's expectations and have really pushed both the US and Mexico. When I compare the coaching job both have done there is NO comparison. I am so frustrated by GGG stubbornness with hanging on to some players, lack of offensive creativity and believing that his tactical system is so good that any player is fungible in that system when technical ability and talent is a differentiator.

  10. It seems Gregg only gave regulars a run-out. You know, to keep them moving forward.

Which tells me all he wanted from this camp was fitness training.

  11. This just looks like another opportunity for GGG to trot out his buddies again. Probably in the forlorn hope that they will do something, anything to allow him to justify what he has already decided to do, that is to take these guys to Qatar when players who may well have been far more capable were left out, and in some cases were never given a real chance to see what they contribute to the USMNT. I am dreading the prospect of seeing some of these guys go against players of true quality. I hope they dont think Acosta or Yuill will do anything against the likes of Declan Rice or Jack Grealish, or Messi or Mbape. A player that plays in France or Germany may not of that same calibre but at least they will have played against players of that caliber several times during the year, and at least would have some idea of what they are up against.
I am not certain who gives the authority to represent the USA in soccer to the USSF, but that is what needs to be changed. As has already been pointed out that the current management seems to be mired in the 1980s or 1990s, not in the present day where we have quality players playing all over the world, and they seem to be without an idea about how to evaluate a large number of players and winnow that number down to a small number of the best of the best our country has to offer.

  12. Look…it is simple…GGG is NOT the guy…We need a Patton like character to lead these guys…look at Canada….with a hard man as coach…who is that guy for us? Eric Wynalda that's who…USA soccer is a corrupt mafia stuck in a box….they won't get out of the WC group if they even make it
