There's clubs willing to pay £80m for Mason ffs. Sell him. If he then becomes a top player, great. But this narrative of selling him being a mistake or sending the wrong signal to the academy is just absurd. He's not what these English pundits or radio personalities (or whatever they are) make him to be. Please rest this topic.

English pundits are pathetic. if a player is good enough and doesn't live up to expectations the club have to keep the play anyway just because, they came through the academy. Those players need to be sold.
As United fan I do not want him there must be better options surely!

Why would any young player go to Man Utd or Arsenal? It's not as if they have a plethora of young players playing regularly in their team. Rashford, Garnacho…who else? Saka…..then who else is regular at Arsenal?
Cry me river, please. Chelsea still have more academy graduates in the first team squad than the other big teams in England. Reece James, Colwill be here next season, Broja will be second choice striker fighting to be first, there is Lewis Hall.
So if they sell 4 academy grads… That still leaves James, Chalobah, Broja, Hall, Colwill, Anjorin, Maatsen, etc. The fact is that RLC and CHO have stalled and are not going to be top class players. Mount is not, IMO, a top class player. He's a good, hard-working squad player. Gallagher has played like a headless chicken this season. Only a tiny, tiny percentage of academy players reach top, top class. That's life. Mount is not worth 350k per week, which is what he wants. So if he doesn't agree a lower wage, he'll be sold. Simple.
He's stone useless.
It's important to remember that Chelsea needs 4 players home grown at the club and a further 4 home grown in England. I count

That's 9. They can afford to lose one and only one if they are going to have a good quality squad in Europe… and of those Gilchrist and Hall are likely not yet quality. They should be working to keep them all for registration purposes.

Poch is not a winner and Chelsea challenging for the top 4 is not good enough. As a chelsea fan of 40 years, we should be challenging for the title and in order to do that we need and elite class coach who is a winner and has a proven track record like enrique, mourinho, ancelotti who can handle the bigger stars, they can choose whatever style they want to play without the owner demanding a certain style and full power to the manager, this was the main reason why mourinho left after his first stint and second stint as abramovich wanted an attacking style later on and players had too much power.
before other chelsea fans slate me, arsenal sine the wenger era and after until now, have had a manager for a long term project and during that time chelsea have won 5 titles, 2 champions leagues and 2 uefa cups etc
mason mount is not a world class player as his technical ability is poor in comparison to foden and grealish so we should get rid of him. reece james is a world class player or is in the making and has been consistent so he should kept at all costs and the rest sold
Useless argument imo, if your good enough to stay you'll stay… Why should Chelsea accommodate RLC, Hudson-Odoi etc if they not up to the club standard & as for Mount no one is about the club
