Part 6 of 24 of my player reviews! Next up is Nicola Otamendi. The General’s 18/19 was admittedly as good as 17/18, but Otamendi still played a good part in Manchester City’s historic season. I review how the Argentinian centre-back got on this campaign.

  1. Keeping him should be a top priority. CDM is top priority and if gundogan leaves it definitely is. Delaying it at least a year for getting a CB would be ideal

  2. Important to keep imo! Stones seems quite injury prone and with Vinny gone, replacing 2 great centre backs could be a task!

  3. Yeah not sure what happened between him and pep this season, seems like another sane situation.
Btw this 4 videos a day thing seems pretty exhausting imo so how about you do one video a day reviewing 2 players?

  4. Otamendi is still a very good defender and will prove extremely useful for city due to the squad depth required to challenge on all fronts

  5. Laporte was not there half of last season and Kompany was injured, so he had to play, but this season pep didnt shuffle the center backs that much

  6. Early in the season he didn't play cos he was at the world cup and Guardiola was managing him …if kompany had not been fit he would have played those big games. But Guardiola has learnt not to change a winning team so his chances were really cut short. 7 would be fair.

  7. Should definitely stay, but if he wants to go he can go. I'd 100℅ prefer to see Laporte – Stones as our main partnership but we need his experience

  8. I think it’s time for Otamendi to step down as heartbreaking as it is, it’s time to rebuild a new city not with new signings but with the academy I would love to see Garcia, adarabioyo and Sandler step up to the first team

  9. Otamendi has been crap! He almost cost us against Schalke as he gave them the chance to make it 1-1 and then while Schalke were leading 2-1 he got sent off for pushing the Schalke player and thank god Sane & Sterling saved us!
