the legend is coming home. so excited man
If it happens gana will not be the same player he was when left us put he better than what we got he do a job like Gareth Barry did for us for 2 seasons
I think because we need help in the short-term (so we don't have a year like last season), Idrissa Gana Gueye is what we need right now. We do need to start working on his replacement now though. Gueye can, hopefully, start helping a youngster to work to fill that role when he leaves. That way we aren't struggling to find a replacement & then have a crap year when we can't.
I agree that Gbamin won't fit that bill & won't have a good career with the Toffees.
People obviously stopped watching Gueye play when he moved to France which is understandable. He’s a much better player currently. Obviously won’t have the longevity but we are on a firefighting mission atm after last season.
He's a machine he will play to a high level till 35
Nice to see him come back Cam…if the deal favors the Toffees…don't want to pay fee's upfront for older players except in exceptional circumstances….but once he's a Toffee again we'll support him as we do with every Toffee…..COYB.
Am I the only one crying over Everton's transfer business. That include the one hit wonder Dwight Mcneil.
Now buying ex burnt out player Adrissi Gyeye with no resale value shook me up. That's why we're in the red like that!!
Nice to see him come back, yes, our recruitment has been poor and we failed to replace him. It’s clear that Gomes, Gbamin and Davies are not up to his standard. I think midfield is an area we really need to improve on. £15 to £20 million for Gomes, just don’t see anyone paying that price
The addition of Gana Gueye will completely change the unbalanced and tired midfield we have all seen last season. This is a very important signing and will change completely how we transition from midfield to attack. A great signing, congrats to the club!
So is this the number 8 that McNeil didn’t get you think?
Cam Gana is 32 years old 33 in September. I think we will get 2 really good years out of him heading into the new stadium. We know our financial situation at the moment & I'm sure we as a club are looking to change the way we work recruitment wise, I think Lampard & Thelwell have their own plan & will need that little bit of time to put it into practice. We as fans know how the club & board have fucked up for years & I think they now recognise that. In my eyes it's steady the ship for the next couple of seasons & improve we may be pleasantly surprised at how we do in the coming years but also once our financial restraints are eased I think we will see better decisions being made & being at the new stadium will help that a lot. As for looking for say the next Gana we may well have some kids coming through or as you say there may be a young guy coming through elsewhere & by then I'm sure (well I'm hoping we will have our house in order). COYB. 😄👍💙💥
Also at this moment in time I'd rather take Gana back than pay ridiculous way over inflated prices for young unproved player like Giggs White from Wolves, I mean £30 million no real experience, we can not throw money away.
I agree with you Cam & we can't let the board off the hook but also we are not in a position finances wise to bring several players from £18 million to say £30 million. We may have wanted some of these players but if the selling club are wanting full fee or almost full fee up front we ain't getting them Cornet from Burnley prime example.
If we can move out Holgate, Gomes, Gbamin, Yerry & Allan we could pull in a reasonable amount of money. Yerry & Allan I would be sad to see go as I like both of them but age & injury catching up with them. Gabamin unlucky but time to cut our loses & the other two just an fucking waste of time.
Might be players out there but we are taking our younger midfielders in the under 23s on loan elsewhere to give them experience you cannot put that pressure on them look at Gordon worked his way through went on loan to couple clubs then worked up and got to the first team and now he got to make. Anthony Gordon needs to show what he can do it’s his biggest season of his career
And it’s for cover mate and you need to have that bench coz of 5 subs this season
Give lampard a bloody chance mate he is going to build a squad his first summer window he sending young lads on loan to make them play game time instead of getting straight into the team
Good opinions 👏
Joke of a club.. gone backwards since Moyes left…. if Kendall was alive the board would still be trying to bring him back..
Gana's HOME.
CAMEROON 🇰🇭 Gueye would be a great signing even if we had a decent transfer policy! I get your point though… Hopefully we have learnt some painful lessons about recruitment… Otherwise are destined to repeat our relegation battling seasons over and over again (or worse 😥)
Cam I agree with most if not everything you've mentioned here but annoyingly your podcasts would be much more enjoyable if you wouldn't persist in continuously repeating the same point several times throughout the stream. All your podcasts would be substantially shorter if you made your point and left it at that. otherwise enjoy your content and enthusiasm. coyb
maybe tyler onyango in 18 months / 2 years is the gana replacement ?
With you Cam..what if PSG did not sell him? we were lucky to get this replacement we have to stop hoping to be lucky
PSG play in a considerably weaker league than Everton If they don’t consider him worth keeping you have to ask why . It’s very seldom a returning player delivers for a club . Decent cover required for DCL has to be the main priority as he is unlikely to make it through a season uninjured and FL might want to rest him in Cup games against lower league opposition
I see a pattern of recruiting committed hungry players rather than superstars, we offloaded Siggy and Delph plus others, we can build a future team on this strategy!
2 fan channels i watch hate our club more than the redshite does, yes we've done bad business in the past but its down to FFP why we're in this situation, not Moshiri, the mans working miracles with the numbers with the situation we're in.
