Reality is if we want to compete for European places we NEED a good goalkeeper. Our intel on Jose Sa is limited so the reason for his purchase is one of the following; 1.) Fosun have tracked Sa and are confident he can step up. 2.) Fosun lack the funds required for a better goalkeeper. 3.) Better alternatives such as Johnstone/Areola are not for sale
I said on Wolves Fancast that i wanted Sa as soon as we got promoted. Seeing him in Europe quite a lot I think he is excellent

What i will say is Rui is on £100k a week. Maybe this is an opportunity to move the salary bill from the goal keeper to other parts of the team.
Rui is still a top keeper. But as you say there is little between the two keepers. Rui has more x factor as he has played for Porto and won leagues and won the european championship. Fixture in the portugal squad for 10 years… Normally get to qf in tournaments.
Sa doesnt have that experience and didnt make it to portugal squad.
